I tried real hard not to give away many spoilers in my review. Only because, I know some will completely ignore me and watch the review anyway lol. But I think I did alright. If you guys have seen it, let me know your thoughts.

Yeah...I saw it. Couldn't resist. It is pretty much what you would expect based on the backlash. But let me tell you...if there had been no media backlash at all, and I had walked into this blindly basing all my knowledge of this on Blake Lively's marketing aesthetic...I would feel very jipped. Not only is the advertising tonedeaf...but it's intentionally misguiding you. And no...not in an interesting way. Not like the trailer for BARBARIAN, which cleverly misguided you to build the suspense....

This closing track has been my workout motivation for the week once I think I can't keep going any longer lol. Love the scurrying string sections towards the end of it.

I went and saw the film at the iconic Texas Theater. It's one of my favorite theaters in town. My date and I had so much fun. I don't think he was expecting the film to be as intense as it was. What an extraordinary experience on the big screen. You could feel the audience growing more and more uneasy silently as the film went on. Then a big release of tension right when the screen goes black. If you are able to catch a screening near you for the anniversary, I highly recommend it. Our theate...

I kid you not...for a long time I saw old clips of a highschool-age Max Holloway...and I thought it was Jaden Smith. XD.

For the next watch party, I am going to make it horror themed. Name a movie you'd like to see, and I'll take it under consideration. Can't guarantee anything. But I like to hear suggestions and get a sense of what people are feeling.

I love a good celebrity gossip. It's a deep flaw in me, admittedly. But this one is too good to pass up. It falls right in line with the DON'T WORRY DARLING drama from a couple of years ago, which I couldn't get enough of at the time lol. I haven't seen this new film, yet so a lot of what I am saying here is speculation based on my observances. so take it with a grain of salt. But the marketing for it has been quite interesting. Blake Lively who produced and starred in the film, clearly did n...

Can someone help me understand the ending? Delroy basically gets put in this trance state of sorts, to be able to make the sacrifice. But how is this achieved? Is it hypnosis? Who exactly is hypnotizing him? And what is the audience seeing exactly? We have these two stylistic choices throughout, that then merge into the final cinematic descent towards destruction. But...then what is it that we are viewing when you abandon the set up?
Also, it has been bugging me that Delroy is making t...

I forgot to post this earlier. I have a lot of respect for Keanu Reeves, as many people do. This is a really genuine moment of reflection on what The Matrix means to him. Maybe it's because I am one of the people who have been so profoundly impacted by it, as it's one of my favorite movies. But it's wonderful to see how much it means to him as well. <3

I'm sure you've all heard. He smoked cigarettes as if it was 1955, as long as I've known of him. So I am obviously not surprised by this news. But...the weight of existentialism has to hit us on occasion with news like this. I think about all the great artists who have existed throughout time. I feel very very lucky, to be alive in the same era as David Lynch. We should all be so lucky. My heart goes out to him, and I hope he can feel the love of us all.

Sometimes I need to be cultured by the people I know. I didn't grow up watching a lot of silly movies. Even as a kid it tended to be the more self-serious stuff, unfortunately. But now thankfully, I get to go back and see all the movies I wasn't exposed to as a kid. Whether it's AUSTIN POWERS or ZOOLANDER. Adore them all. But most recently I finally saw the one that had eluded me all these many years. You can now rest a little easier......because I have now officially seen DUMB AND DUMBER. :D...

I really loved this film. Of course I saw it right after I shot my best movies of the year so far. As is typical. But if I could do it over again, this would definitely make it on my list. Has anyone seen it? What are your thoughts? I will do a review for it in the fall. Likely around Halloween time or possibly before. It's not perfect, but I can see this one becoming a cult classic that people bring up in the coming years.

I hadn’t seen this one since its initial release, but felt I needed the refresher before the sequel comes out in October. Many of you know that I wasn’t a fan of the first film at all. But I liked it a lot more the second time. But I'll get my complaints out of the way first.
I’ve always thought the Joker as a character works better as an abstraction and as a symbol with no sympathy or background to draw from. The anti-hero angle here is obviously going for the TAXI DRIVER/KING O...

I have an injury so...I'm stuck sitting on my ass more than I would like. It's deeply frustrating. But it meant I could finish season 3 of THE BEAR pretty quickly. I dont watch much tv at all, but THE BEAR is one series that I began watching with someone about a year ago, and saw it all the way through, which is rare for me. I think it’s a strong show overall, and naturally I have thoughts on season 3. I will try and keep the spoilers to the minimum, much like I do in my movie reviews, just...

PEARL is the best of this trilogy by miles. I'd rank MAXXXINE and X more on the same level in terms of quality. Both well made, but not much more than a cheeky pastiche. Though MAXXXINE has its moments. I probably preferred it overall to X. But not by much. Some fun side characters.

I watched it the other night. You guys were right. So cheesy and silly but kinda fun. Kinda endearing. Some weak writing, but also they paid attention to the characters which I appreciated. Lots of things I would have done to make it better, but it was fun. Well structured for the most part, and the perfect 90s disaster movie. I miss the days of seeing people in a room full of computers yelling commands at each other, and throwing walkies-talkies from one person to the other lol. Good times. ...

One - amiright that Tom Hardy full on sounds like Nate Diaz in this movie, timbre-wise??? Uncanny. Seriously lol. I was laughing at the thought the entire time. And people have been agreeing with me a lot. Why am I the only one who made the comparison?
But two - ya'll know my love for Michael Shannon. And many of you cringe at the thought. You are all just misinformed ;). You bet your ass I've been revisiting all the Shannon interviews with Jimmy Fallon since this film came out. Shanno...

Who remembers the original? I havent seen it since I was a kid, But I'll try and revisit it before the new one. I won't lie, it looks quite fun to me. I enjoy these silly types of movies. And I'm a big tornado type of girl. I live in Texas so...we used to it out here. Is anyone excited about it at all? If not for just the popcorn entertainment of it all? Or are you skipping it?
