If you have basic knowledge on how UV's work in blender and creating seams this will be a breeze for you. If you are unsure it is still not a complicated process to understand and actually very useful. This weekend I came across a free plug in for blender that allows you to take the seams you have made on your 3D object and make it so you can sew it by creating a pattern. It seems complicated but the process is actually really straight forward.

The 3D eyed head I have been working on works well for both types of eyes, be it 3D following eyes like it was originally designed and plastic flat eyes. Started working on a new head base that will be used with my 3D eyes (currently using Nuke creations 3D casted eyes on the heads you currently see on Mixedcandy). The old 3D eyed canine mold has been retired since it is no longer usable so this gave me a chance to work on a new one. The original one was made out of clay ages ago and had some symmetry issues. Now that I can do my sculpts in Zbrush making symmetry issues a thing of the past.

A lot of people think the only way to make a mold from a 3D print is to print the positive, silicone it and create a hard outer shell. There is nothing wrong with doing it that way but there are other ways that can be very cost effective and help speed up the process as well.
We were making our molds like so (by printing a positive)

First time offering head kits like these and excited to see what people make with them. I have zero issues with modeling and texturing but when it comes to rigging and weight painting it can be a bit of a pain. Not hard just tedious to do specially when you don't know the program very well (I mostly use zbrush so blender has been a learning experience). Starting the year off in a way where I am going to learn to do every aspect of making a VR character.
