It's funny, I arranged the order of animations to put the easiest ones first, then building up to the more complex ones, so I'd save the tough ones for when I was more "in the groove" and had the benefit of learning on the easier ones. But I'm finding out that this second animation is definitely not easy! In fact, it's come close to breaking my brain a couple times so far!

I've been working on the animation where Kerren throws the MC onto the hotel bed. I think this is only going to be a 6 second animation, but it takes a lot of adjustment to get the timing to feel right. When I shared this animation video I did it in 3 versions and asked which one you preferred (music, sound effect, or music + sound effects). Not a single person chose. Please let me know which you prefer, or add comments if you think the relative levels are bad (music or sfx should be lower for example). I'd rather get it right now than to put out something everyone dislikes and only find out when it's too late.

Okay, I mentioned the script I'm using here in the previous post. This is just a quick stab at it, with the amounts of flex and vascularity not dialed in very well. But I did tie the flexion of many muscles into it. But I think this will allow me to show muscle flexing pretty well in animations.

I'm looking for ways to make the animations as realistic as possible. I found a script called "dFast" that may allow me to cause muscles to flex convincingly when joints bend. Okay, it's done. I'm honestly not entirely happy with it and may in fact end up re-doing it at some point later. The two main problems are:
1) Shadows on the wall are very weird. This should be easy to fix. Well: easy to fix, but 60 hours of computer time to re-render!

Sorry for such a long hiatus. The reasons why are several: project burn-out, holidays, need to make $, and a couple health issues (foot and back problems).
Now I'm refreshed and back on the TAG trail, burn-out replaced by renewed vigor. Holidays past us, Health problems on the mend. Money concerns always loom, but in-check for now.

It's the weirdest thing. Whenever I render images on the MC's office floor at Doppler, the renders take FOREVER... even with my super-duper graphics card. This scene I approached a bit differently than past ones. usually I write the script before creating any stills. In this case it seemed to make more sense to build the scene as I created the images. I ended up changing something around too: there's an encounter that originally I'd planned for the next scene, but it occurred to me it would be more dramatic if it happened in an elevator rather than the MC's office.

Well, I got through all the "X-ray" images (one included here). I admit I was a little worried that they'd be harder and more time consuming than I was counting on, but in fact they were easier! As I stepped through the back and forth in that sequence though I realized I was rushing things a bit, so I added some more still images to properly tell the story. Slow progress the last few days due to our US Independence Day holiday, and of course: life. You've doubtless seen that I'm finally starting to pick music out for the VN though.
