I need a Knight non-player character to guide players along a quest in Lost Desert online. Since its a videogame, I wanted this knight to have impractical armor, but I think in this case, the more practical armor in the first sketch just fits the concept I have for this NPC more. (Or maybe she just looks better with that pose?)

I don't know where the idea that Jess is a Canadian came from, but it sort of got stuck in my head a while back.

Also, here's the end result of what Jess' summer job is going to be! I've tweaked it so that this Emily Abbott person is an inventor who nerdy teenage Jess idealized after she got her Neurolink.

Hopefully things don't go too badly when Jess eventually meets her hero!

So, back in February I made a post about what Fiona and Lisa get up to when they return to their online game of Lost Desert Online. I thought I had a poll that went with it but I guess I didn't? Anyhow, here's a pair of test images of what Fiona and Lisa could look like when they spent a little time working for the bad guys! Fiona is not going to be happy with her new uniform!

Originally Jean's text bubbles were going to be a dark blue, but then I wanted to change Hugo's eye color when Jean is in control similar to how Jess' eyes change color when Felix is in control. Problem was that I had just made Hugo's eyes light blue, which would be a bit too similar to Jean's dark blue. So I decided to change Jean's eyes to a golden brown and give him brown text bubbles.

Originally Gildamore or Mira were going to call the Shadowman out on this, but Robin has been sitting around passively this entire time and as the protagonist, I felt that she needed to how a more active role in this scene. Also, given how the others brushed Gildamore off previously, it would make sense that Gildamore would use Robin to call out the Shadowman, since an accusation like this would have greater impact coming from her.

So in an earlier version of this strip, Hugo signed up for a trial with a service that lets you hire an expert (like a handyman, martial arts expert, accountant, to take control to do various tasks for you), but I think I'll save that idea for later.

So with Hugo's first appearance coming up fairly soon, I figured I should draw a test panel or two so that I could nail down his look.

Clean shaven Hugo turned out a little more boyish than I planned, but I think it fits blond Hugo well. It also works for brunette Hugo, except that I had always imagined brunette Hugo with more of a Henry Cavill or James Bond look. This brunette Hugo feels more like a Disney Prince to me, which isn't a bad thing.

I'm not sure how I feel about beard...

Hugo vacationing on a remote island came about as a solution to why Hugo hadn't contacted Jess yet. At first I was just going to have his excuse be that he was camping or simply busy, but then I decided to make it something more exotic.
