Ace of Wands - Sketch

Wohooo, I'm so excited to finally start the tarot deck! :D
I'm by no means an expert on tarot and I still have so much to learn, but I just love the idea of taking broad, abstract concepts, interpreting them in your own way, and putting them into images. That process is my absolute favourite thing about drawing. So the whole tarot deck gives me a bunch of ideas to work off of.
The sketch might look  freaking chaotic right now, but there is actually quite a bit of thinking and planning...

Time off - 09/02/2017 until 14/03/2017

 Hey guys! I hope you are well.

As I've said earlier, I'm taking some time off now. I've been working non-stop for 1 1/2 years and it's about time for a serious vacation.
During that month, I won't be creating any content, so I set the pledges to "per creation" for now. So of course, I won't charge you. This is the final drawing in the series so far.
I've been thinking about a name for the project. It's basically about finding my own voice and going back to the aesthetics that I personally enjoy. Not thinking about possible commercial applications and just exploring and being free. I bet when I'm not thinking about it at all, some name is gonna pop into my head. :D

 I think this one is my favourite so far. It has got a bunch of things that I like: a female character, Asian aesthetics, patterns, graphic elements, contrast etc.

I ran out of two of my cool grey Copic markers, so I had to get creative and just used warm grey for the background.  I'm gonna go grab some new markers tomorrow.  
I also used some think acrylic paint to add atmospheric perspective to the mountains.

My default is always drawing pale white people, so I wanted to bring in a bit more diversity. It also gave me the chance to put lighter marks on her skin, which I like.

But today I'm back with another one! It's one of the characters from Phantasma, Mai. She wanders around at night and pulls little spirits with her as she goes.

Masks and birch trees.
This is drawing number 12 and I'm planning on going up to 20 before my vacation. I enjoy exploring those different themes without too much pressure. I don't feel like I need to make a masterpiece and I can always try to do better the next day. :]

Sketches - X / XI

In case you were wondering whether I'm doing sketches for the ink drawings: I do!
I fell a little behind on my schedule today. The funny thing is that I have to finish my preliminary digital sketch before it gets dark outside (at 4 p.m.?).
I print the sketch out, stick it to the window and transfer it that way because I don't have a lightbox. But I don't always get the drawing done in time. So I just sketched two images today and I'm going to ink them tomorrow. :)

For today's little ink drawing, I felt like doing fanart. Neon Genesis Evangelion has always had such a special place in my heart and influenced me tremendously. The End of Evangelion left me stunned, confused, disturbed and in awe, all at the same time.

Jun (Colour)

Happy new year! Jun is coloured and the rewards are posted. 

 I want to take the opportunity to thank you for making this project possible. I'm taking small steps, but being able to set aside time for it at all, that is all because of you. I really love the concept of supporting creators directly and leaving out the company in the middle. It is a much more genuine experience and it makes you care about the work in a very different way.
