Save system revamp and faster auto-skip

What can I say? A hundred times thanks! I didn't have any idea about how this number would grow, or even if it would have any growth at all. 

I started these projects just for the fun of working on them, but always taking it very seriously (seems weird, but taking it seriously is part of the fun).

Hack'n Stalk 2.0 [v0.3.1]

This is just a quick bug-fix release: The TENNIS LESSONS quest is not being triggered at night in version [v0.3] as stated on the walthrough if SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER ===> you say to Samantha that you used to give tennis lessons. OSX version has the same problem, but building a fix for it takes more time.

Hack'n Stalk 2.0 [v0.3]

Hi folks! Since previous build I planned two project milestones that I could use as the point of release for a third version:

  • Aftermath, night and end of story day 1
  • End of main scenes at story day 2

Hack'n Stalk 2 [v0.2.1]

There's no new story content in this version. It's just some minor (but important) system improvements, bug fixes and text revisions. 

WHAT'S NEW

  • Story Mode: If you don't like minigame mechanics, timed actions, or just want a simpler experience, just play in story mode. Action sequences will still be played in this mode, but they will never deliver a "you lose" outcome. Point-and-click quests are not affected.

Would you be interested in Mac builds?

I have an almost 10 years old MacBook. It takes ages to startup, but I'm able to get it running Unity, and it can even generate builds of the game. Doing this takes some time, and I don't think I'm able to test the game in this Mac. But, if there are enough people interested in a Mac version I could do it for next versions.

Second release is coming!

Hi folks!

Content, dialogs and code for the second release are done! Now, it just needs a fair amount of testing to clean the most nasty bugs! 

There will be lots of alternatives to complete this first quest, and it means a lot of holes where bugs can be hidden. I wanted to release it tomorrow (Dec 03 2017), but I think it worths to wait one more day to have a better polished version.

Cheat code!

Hey! I don't know how I forgot to post this before.
 

It's a little cheat code for all you that are proud dirty hackers. During any point-and-click scene where you need to find the green glowing areas, hold 'C' and 'B' keys together to highlight all hotspot areas in the scene.


Remember this is a cheat code, not designed as a  gameplay element for the experience!

What's on next release

About mechanics...


Hi folks. I hope you enjoyed the first build. Last days were not the most productive, but I'm getting on track again. The released version ends at a point the game will become a little less linear. To complete the 'quest' you'll need to perform some tasks with no required order, visiting several locations.

But don't be fooled by words like 'quest', 'locations', 'inventory' and 'free roam'. This is not a sandbox/simulation game. There are lots of these games around. They are easy to ...

What to expect on release 0.1

First patron build release of Hack'n Stalk 2.0 is coming at the weekend!  In this first version I tried  to finish the most of the basic systems: new UI, D.I.C.K. system, inventory, story script engine, minigame operability.

The D.I.C.K. system

The first Hack'n Stalk had one single Player Character status checked on very few situations:  Karma. Now I'm working on a bit more deep system with 4 player statuses:

Hack'n Stalk 2.0 Teaser. It starts !

Here it is !  This is a first public release to mark the start of the project. I don't even call it a game yet, but still a teaser. 

I'm now working on the original Hack'n Stalk framework, and I used the teaser to test these improvements. I changed to a better story scripting system, making it easier to add more mini-games, sound and animated graphics. Polished a bit the user interface and defined a more concise inventory system.

I'm sick of calling it "the new game". It needs a name! I have a few ideas, but what other way to start giving power to the the patrons would be the best than let them choose the name? So, choose one or even suggest  complete different ones in the comments.
