New Miniature Painting Video + Early Access Monday

Let me know how you like this style of video over my normal painting videos! This style of editing was out of necessity as I had 9 hours of recorded footage to go through :)

Also, I have my first podcast recorded and scheduled to be released early to all $5+ patrons early Monday morning. You can listen to it during your morning routine/commute. The idea hopefully is to have something fun for you guys on Monday so it's not just bad news and work :P

A tease

Hey guys! I've finally finished the Demon Vanguard for Eternal War as requested and it is by far the largest project I've taken on to-date. When all was said and done I have twice as much footage as a normal video to edit.

With that in mind, I hope you enjoy this preview gif I made! It's the whole video in less than a minute! I'll still have a video out for you guys this weekend but it won't be him until next week :)

Early Access + Patreon exclusive?

Patreon milestone update

Family Emergency and Painting

Hey guys! As always I want to start by saying thank you. You are all, every single one of you, awesome!

So, this is my WIP pic. I know it's not much and here's why: On Monday during dinner I got a phone call from my mother, my father was being taken to a hospital in an ambulance. It turns out he was crushed by a trash can full of rocks and broke his back. He's been in the hospital since. He's not paralyzed or anything but is currently seeing if a brace will work or if he will need surgery.

Enjoyed this one more than I thought I would

It's been a while but I am back in the swing of things! I think you will all agree that my free-hand has improved :) The sculpt for the Bonsai Daimyo looked terrible to me at first, but as always, paint helps define the different parts and what at first looks like a jumbled mess now looks like a helmet and sword.

A much better sculpt than the Dragonfly Bushi, this had nothing but good detail :) Next up will be another Daimyo and then something big =O

July Vote!

This should be enlightening. You will notice there IS NO RISING SUN in this vote. That's right, I plan to smother you all in Rising Sun videos for a bit, therefore you have complete control over a ton of secondary game miniatures!

3K subs!

In just 8 months I've hit 3,000 subscribers and 20+ patrons and I must say I'm blown away by all of the support everyone has shown!

I'm definitely a metrics guy and so I find it interesting to see the "snowball" effect. For instance, while it started off slow, I've now gained 1,000 subscribers every 2 months twice now, meaning 2k of the 3k came in the last 4 months!

So, what's next? I'd like to say "status quo" I have higher goals than that which I believe really keep me invested in the ...

The Dragonfly Bushi are not finished! That leaves only the alternate Bushi sculpt for next month and then the entire Dragonfly Clan has been voted on by all of you :) I really look forward to filming shots of the entire finished clan :D

Seriously though, very busy last few weeks cleaning and packing for our move. We close on the house on the 30th and move in on the 31st so it's right down to the wire here! I've been trying to fit in some painting when I can, I hope to finish painting today and make the video tomorrow to post this week for you all, taking the rest of the time off completely to finalize this move.

Final June Vote

Rising Sun won with 40%, followed by Vanguard of War at 20%. I'm happy to see so much excitement for Vanguard of War, and might have something in the works for next month ;)

Slight shift in video schedule + WIP

I have a large conference I am presenting/attending for my company and its partners (real job) that will take up my time for several days this week. On top of that I spent Mothers day taking care of the family and yesterday was my 8 year anniversary with my wonderful wife.

As a result I'm shifting to a painting schedule I've wanted to do for a while now. I still hope to continue painting 2 miniatures a week (though I haven't always been hitting that, goals are good to have!) but I'll be focusi...

White is hard!

Almost done with the Koi Daimyo. Getting the white done was really hard though! Lots of layers involved but quite happy with the result. The hardest part about adding shadows to white is to make sure it doesn't look dirty. No small feat!

I'll be glad to not paint yellow and white for a while :D
