I share a lot of painting work in progress pictures but today I thought I'd show you a bit more of the backend part of the channel. What you see here is a graph showing my views per day since my first miniature painting video.

Some interesting dates that are shown on the chart:

* Mid January is when the HATE KS launched and shows the start of offering my quick Kickstarter videos.

* Second half of February was my first Rising Sun miniature painting videos.

Almost done!

I made a bit of progress on her before work today, will finish the base and then edit the video. Should be uploaded tomorrow if all goes well! How do you think she turned out? Doing those eyes were scary!

Next miniature being sent out

Made some good progress in this one. Dreading the eyes though :) This is to celebrate the $60 milestone. Looking forward to the excuse to paint the $100 goal miniature!

Okay, so as you know I've been having you all decide what order I painted the Dragonfly Clan from Rising Sun. There is only one miniature left now which would make a boring vote so instead, let's do a SECOND Patreon video in June. I'm actually going to split this into two separate votes that each run for 2 weeks.

What a month of painting looks like

Well, here's what the next month holds according to my plans. We'll see if I can actually complete them all! Also, I thought you all might find this cool but I am doing my first commission painting job for Rising Sun! The 4 Daimyo you see where are part of that and not actually my own minis :)

Not ready yet

So I painted these guys up unitl 2am so no chance of it being done today but will for sure publish by Wednesday. Really hope you guys like it!

Progress

Made some good progress yesterday on them, they paint up very quickly which is nice! Will try and finish today with filming and editing to post Monday - if not they'll fall to Wednesday.

Help me decide how to paint him

How bright do you want the patron voted mini of the month? The concept art has fairly muted colors so in my previous post where I listed the paints I chose muted colors as well. I'll be starting to paint him tomorrow and therefore this is your last chance to help choose how they are painted. Finished

Here they are finished! It took a lot longer than I had anticipated (not quite benefiting fully from batch painting as they are all different poses and bases). Ended up filming 6 hours of footage but I didn't fill each one either so total time was probably around 8-9 hours. Anyway, this wasn't done by Monday, have to finish editing and VO today meaning *maybe* Tuesday release. The channel however has 2 KS videos We'd. And Thurs. Wow these guys have taken quite a while. Of course, I'm painting 3 of them at the same time so there's that :)

Unrelated, and completely a tease, I have some exciting things for the channel coming up in a few months! It's really fun to plan out some of these long term items and start actually setting them up :D

So this arrived today.

So many minis! I knew they were sending me some Chronicle X miniatures and Vanguard of War but was not expecting so many of each! Now, what to paint first....suggestions? Thinking the large Annilihaltor first but it'll take a bit longer.

Smashed through the next "giving back" goal!

I really hope you guys like him and I look forward to working with all of you on my next monthly painting for you guys :)

This has to be the most detailed miniature I've painted yet. He took me at least 5 hours (it was 4.5 hours of footage and I don't record touchups or my NMM attempt on the swords) plus more than that for editing as I learned a new editing software and created some animations that I hope you appreciate. I wanted this one to be very special! :D

Sneak Peek of Walther

How many paints is too much?

The Army Painter apparently thinks I should be using their paints and not just their basing material and brushes so they sent me this. Unboxing video will go up here first, then on YT middle of next week.

As mentioned, Sotek Green by Citadel is a great base coat for the skin. I used Grey Blue /Emerald 9/1 by Valleho, Nuln Oil, then Light Green Blue (Vallejo) highlights. This guy takes a long time, another Fire Dragon for sure. I hope to have him and the video done by Monday.

Frustrating WIP but can finally see the light

So, spent literally 2 hours on just his skin. It's an odd blue/green and every single painting I've seen has strictly done blue. I painted him up, doing great highlights and then noticed he was too blue. I tried to correct with self made wash, failed, tried again, failed, tried watered down Nuln Oil, failed and then tried again to a point where I accept it as he is (needs highlights again). Will create some "fun" video editing during the start of this video :P I'm sure he will end up fine, but w...

My setup at the moment

A scene of my desk as requested. Excuse the but if mess, busy packing as we are moving in May. Thankfully in the new place I'll have my own office and I can really start investing in a better setup!

Anyway, there's a long pole and 2 wires that go down from that light ring in front of my face so I sit and lean a bit to the side of it. Sitting down the lens is right around eye level which gives a good view of the mini as I paint it. It's a bit odd, but you get used to it, though it does affect h...

These are nifty + important Patreon rewards update

So first of all an update about miniature painting. I'm still not feeling 100% but felt good enough to knock out this guy yesterday. I had planned to paint Walther first, but need to buy a few paints for him.

Also, I got these magnifiers which actually help quite a bit (at times) to paint while filming since I have to sit so far away from the miniature. It's odd having your eyes constantly readjust however, takes a moment each time you look at something else to gain focus back.
