After working on the endgame for so long, it feels quite unusual not to know exactly what I will be working on from one update to the other. Happy weekend!

I have been working my ass off this week, trying to get version 0.34 ready before the end of the month. Things are looking promising indeed.

Today, I played the story to its end, including both credits and the post-credits sequence. The epilogues are complete at last, and they feel great in action. At least that's what I think. The jury's out on what the rest of you will feel about it.

Work continues on version 0.34. The biggest remaining challenge is and will continue to be the epilogue images. I'm still working on those. Sometimes, they turn out exactly the way I imagined them in my head. Other times, I have to compromise for one reason or another. Maybe a camera angle didn't work, or maybe the asset I was expecting to use doesn't exist or just isn't good enough.

Now we're talking! I have been hard at work, setting up the previously mentioned sex scene for the new update. It is now at the stage where my computer is churning out animations rapidly. I only have one animation left to pose before I'm done rendering this scene entirely. At that point, I'm going to write, implement, and playtest it.

These weeks go by faster and faster, I swear. 

Since last week, I've been focusing all my attention on the big payoff scene at the very end of the main story. It's not a scene that all of you will end up getting, but it needs to be there. It's already looking excellent, and I'm about to set up the first animations for it. This will be the first big rendering test for my new RTX 3090, but from what I've seen, it should do admirably.

The current status is that the opening scene of 0.34, featuring the Fairy Queen, is completed and fully playable in the game. I hope to once again surprise players in various ways with how that encounter turns out.

Finally! I have finally reached the end of the story for version 0.33, which means all that's left is wrapping up. Well, there's more to it than that. The things that remain to do at this stage are:

  • Adjust transitions and music triggers.
  • Playtest.
  • Adjust dialogue based on playtesting results.
  • Fix bugs.
  • Fix reported bugs and issues from 0.32.
  • Proofread.

I'm really close to wrapping up this update's main path now, having almost finished the puzzle that it ends on. I think I'm going to have to make the update end abruptly so that I can get this in your hands sooner rather than later, but that should be fine. You'll get everything I had planned for 0.33 anyway, and then some. 0.34 will take care of wrapping up the remaining plot points and should be much easier for me to develop and write, too.

This week I have focused my attention on rendering new images for a change of pace. With all the story design I did up to this point, I needed to keep things fresh. The rendering has gone very well.
