Shadow creatures, inhabitants of the Shadowfell, and more are in this week's Monster Thursday! The plane of shadow is a place haunting sorrow, undead galore, and wayward souls all seeking an escape from this dismal plane of existence... but what else might you find here? If you were to take a stroll, not recommended, through the boneyards and even the city of Gloomwrought, what would you find?
The monsters are a collection from previous editions to folklore and mythology, to my own idea...

It seems odd that everyone in the fantasy world of D&D has perfect vision, only losing their sight when afflicted with the blinded condition. These wondrous items may not help you see better if you are visually impaired, but they are imbued with some neat magical powers.
Battle Master Cheaters - No, these are not a group of fighters that fight dirty on the battlefield. For those of you that aren't old, cheaters are another name for glasses, ones that help magnify things for yo...

While probably not the most exciting creature we’ve ever looked at, the Ankheg is still a ferocious monster that should be used in a campaign. While they may just be a threat for beginner adventurers, they are still quite nasty as few monsters can grab a creature in their powerful mandibles and then spray acid all over them, turning them into a rather disgusting pool of flesh. Ankhegs are what separates the fresh-faced adventurers from veterans. If you can take down an Ankheg, then you migh...

The Invisible Stalker, as the name implies, is a perfect tracker that can’t be seen. They are summoned by powerful spellcasters to hunt down victims who can’t fight back.

It seems like every kid loves dinosaurs, at least, only the cool kids like myself. Dinosaurs just have this strange excitement around them, maybe it's imagining having a pet t-rex to rip apart your enemies (OK, that might just be me). Dinosaurs, and a lot of beasts, often don't feel quite as exciting as they should within Dungeons & Dragons. They are often rather weak, appearing only in Tier 1 & Tier 2 of play, and are simple sacks of hit points. They don't DO

Well, I finally broke down and created magical swords. While creating new magical oddities such as powders, balls and so forth, swords make the world go around in D&D no matter what world you may be playing in.
These swords have been converted from earlier editions and I tried to locate ones that were from obscure texts so the weapons might be unique. I hope you enjoy and if you have any requests for a specific type of magical item, please don't hesitate to let me know!

The Neogi are a truly evil and despicable race and maybe the worst we have written about so far. How such small creatures can wield so much power must seem strange at first, but once you find out they can use their brains to mind-control and enslave other creatures, you understand that they force the strong to do their fighting for them. They are creatures who are best avoided whenever possible, they are a testament that greed corrupts all.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t take a second ...

This time we are looking at a few more NPCs that can help liven up your city and offer some potential roadblocks for your adventurers. These individuals often have a thankless job, especially when it comes to an adventurer's life. Stopping them from saving the world because they accidentally littered in the town square by killing two evil demons who had disguised themselves as humans. If a judge never hears that tired old story again, it would be too soon.
These individuals make u...

Bull Powder - Did you know the only bull listed as a monster in the winged bull in Mythic Odysseys Of Theros?
Eucalyptus - It eve...

The Invisible Stalker is a criminally underused creature. Summoned from another plane, these creatures will complete a job you give them, but that doesn’t mean you should expect them to be happy about it. Wizards have been summoning these creatures since the early days of Dungeons & Dragons, and we can only imagine the intense hatred they feel for those abusive arcane power-yielding jerks. Revenge is sweet, however, and if they get the chance, they will pervert your words to ga...

This week, we are looking at creatures from the swamp! Swamp monsters if you will. There are a TON of swamp monsters, and probably literally as well. If we stacked the number of swamp monsters that have appeared in films, folklore, books, and more; it would be a lot. Like a lot a lot. I don't really have a favorite swamp monster, though I think will-o'-wisp are pretty neat, especially as they can be used in interesting ways.
It seems like swamps and bogs were full of terror, but now, th...

The Gith can cause quite a bit of confusion as it is the name of a race that has split between two distinct factions, the Githyanki and the Githzerai. They share a common background and history, escaping from the control of the mind flayers, but tensions within split the race into two with one living in the Astral Plane and the other residing in the Everchanging Chaos of Limbo. This split has...

Sometimes you just need generic NPCs, but there aren't enough stat blocks to go around - or you have some, but they are all CR 1/4 or CR 1/2 because apparently very few people in the world are actually skilled at anything. This week is focused on adding in a few more NPCs that can be tossed into your games, though all of these are focused on knights. In the future, I'll be adding in other Codices that might be geared towards bureaucrats, doctors, priests, and more.
I tried, with t...
