New Lofty Goals

I'm working on my updates to recent Tape plugins, but I've sorted out my intentions for new stuff in future. I will make it possible for patrons to cheaply play with real analog gear! If I hit $2000 (give me a year or so and I'm sure to get there) I will begin to put together 'DIY tinkering kits' so you can build your own synths and stompboxes and things. Anything I get beyond $2000 will be turned into this hardware parts stuff and sold AT COST, no extra profit going to me, but I will be able...

No Evergreens, but something

Hey, we didn't come up with an Evergreens request this Monday and I'm not up for doing one this week: trying to gear up for the Patron-greens (or the Quills and Sofas as a musician livestream hangout?) and I'm going to need to fuss with other stuff, so today I can't do a vinyl (copyrighted, private-stream) record. Starting to get a handle on things, even though I was so discombobulated that I started it right off by calling 'Whole Lotta Love' 'Heartbreaker' :) but it gets better. Facing the music

I've got various plans for ways I can add stuff to the Evergreens podcast, like ability to patch in my guitar and demonstrate guitar stompboxes as part of how musicians got their sounds… but this week I wasn't able to do any of that. So… Phil Collins, evergreen artist :)

Really. This week it's 'Face Value' and a deep dive into why this album launched a celebrity career… even though that celebrity career wasn't all fun for Phil.

Observations

This week's Evergreens is on the King Crimson first album, 'In The Court Of The Crimson King'. Bit late as I was struggling hugely with new tech. On the bright side I think it'll sound even a bit better than before, and I hope you like it. Quite a lot of 'just letting the Crim play while listening in stunned silence', but for the talking parts I'm trying a new mic (less off-mic stuff and clearer) and you're also getting a preview of the upcoming new De-Esser, DeBess :)

So, the original podcast for this was SUCH a wreck that I've been working to fix my tech. Secret Evergreens Podcast

Here we go! As my patron, you will get access to the Evergreens podcast, and back episodes at the link I've provided. Emergency Goal Post

In that I have HIT a goal-post… and it seems I've bounced off of it. And I need your opinions, bad.

I've just hit the $1500 a month mark, possibly because of the goal associated with it. And, having done so, I scrambled to do as I promised: launch a Wednesday livestream dedicated to the analyzing of classic vinyl records. It was hella stressful: I didn't expect to get there for several months, and I had nothing prepared, nothing ready. And I even needed to solder some passive EQ stuff...

Do you know the guy on YouTube circa 2007 or so, who would do amazing  synthesizer demos with patches nobody else could do, coupled with the  most insane VHS-y surreal videos and video treatments? Jexus (WC Olo  Garb), also known as 'oh no, he went away, what a tragedy if only that  guy could return to his music and synth demo making'?

Streamings, nothing more than streamings

I've been fooling around with OBS and my streaming setup: started with music streams on Twitch, began to multistream to Youtube, some people kinda liked it. I do mean to do more, but I can't talk with plugin users while playing instruments: my attention is on playing.
