V2 water blaster!

Made some progress on V2 yesterday but and the "improved" nozzle we tried to make failed horribly hahaha, it just misted the water.

Today we're going to add some hose and we're going to try SLA printing this nozzle we designed!!

It should promote laminar flow and make the water go farther... but there are also a ton of things that could go wrong so we're really excited to find out!! :D

We're trying to make a summer related project and our minds somehow went to super soakers, so we of course thought it would be fun to make our own out of plumbing parts!

Definitely going though some learning pains as we tinker around with the design but it has also been a ton of fun.

KNIFE BOX!!! (more sneak peeks)

Hey everyone! Another quick sneak peek at that knife boxes. With so many projects in the air we just went back to these to film the intro/outro and some asides so that we have all the footage we need to finish it. 

Think we might keep this one in reserve for a bit because we are trying to get the concrete candle holder and an upcoming corian project out first.

Feel like we're making some progress on getting on top of content creation :D

LASER 3D printing aftershow

Hey guys, we were really excited about this video not just because it was the fun playing with lasers but it was the first one we filmed and edited where we thought we have things figured out... after a year of filming making videos. 

We're taking breaks from filming to edit our footage right away, which gives us a balanced day in terms of shop time and computer time, and we're pre-planning if a scene is going to be talking, montage, or some variation of those two instead of filming every...

30 minutes of rough cut goodness! Hope y'all are having a great week - we are back from Bay Area Maker Faire, which was an amazing amazing event. Knife 3D models for y'all to mess with and print!

Hey everyone!! Thanks for your patience while I tweaked the 3D files some, I wanted to make sure they were all good before sharing. I tweaked them just a little bit to make assembly easier (opened up the counterbore so you don't have to drill it, etc). 

So, use the dxf files ending in 102 if you're printing in metal via Shapeways and use the files ending in 100 if you're printing in plastic with your 3D printer.

I've also included a fusion file of the knife in it's final form...

So we're making a few more knives for past collaborations we've done and you might have seen the box we carried the knives in (via Alec's video) but we're also making a video on how we did it. The clamp fixture we made earlier was SO handy for this project:

Whew that title is probably way too long! So a few things to note about this video.

1) This is my (Evan's) first time rough cutting an entire video. This is SUPER exciting because that means that eventually we can make this whole process of making videos faster and more efficient with me doing the rough cut, then Katelyn polishing everything up. I intentionally left everything a little long so that Katelyn has the room and material she needs.

Working with sponsors guide & calculator

We've found that working with sponsors is super rewarding but also really confusing at times. While we've been stumbling through it ourselves we've been keeping notes, working on email templates, and coming up with price calculators so that we could share all that knowledge with you!

We're pretty proud of the calculator that we've come up with that will estimate a fair price for you to charge based on the type of integration the sponsor wants.
