Hey guys! So a while back we got tagged in a post about this “resin curing machine” that supposedly helps you cure your resin pours faster. It basically warms the air inside, and resin cures faster at higher temperatures.

We thought it’d be fun to test it out, maybe as a little second channel video. But then as we looked into it, Evan realized: wait, that’s basically a dehydrator liste...

So we wanted to really try to recreate the look on the box, so we started with me doing the unicorn and Evan doing the “the more you know” star. Let’s just saw the thermoplastic beads were…
…disappointing.

I mean they don’t actually look that bad but they CERTAINLY don’t look like they do on the box.

Hey guys! We've been really having a lot of fun filming second channel content and experimenting a bit. For this video we wanted to try a kid's "stained glass" kit and see how it compared to using resin. The kit actually uses thermoplastics that you're supposed to melt in the oven so it's a pretty neat kit.

Our goal will be to try the thermoplastics, then try resin and see how they compare. Be...

For the sake of the flow of the video, we actually cut out a few tests that were interesting but didn't ultimately lead to the final result we went with...but we didn't want y'all to miss out! So here is some bonus content where we see how mixing glitter, glow powder, and water affect the super glue + baking soda combo!

In this Aftershow we actually hadn't at the time realized yet that a few tests would be cut completely from the video... so we're gonna upload those in a sec! In this Aftershow we cover:
- The ending you didn't see…
- How we thought it would go vs how it did go
- The original plan for the numbers
- The test we did off screen
- Our idea for a choose your own adventure ending
Hope y'all have a great weekend! -Katelyn

Heh, nothing like a last minute switch in the video schedule to keep us on our toes! The pottery wheel video was SO much footage that it's not gonna be ready by tomorrow. The plus side is we actually do have a different video ready (it was for a sponsor that needed further in advance review so the edit was done, and they were kind enough to let us swap it in the schedule! So we had planned on sharing what this other project was with y'all next week after the pottery video went live, but...

Wow, so it turns out that pottery wheels are MUCH harder to use than we originally thought. We stuck it out though, despite all the stumbling and ended up with 2 pieces we really ended up liking! We definitely feel like we learned a TON but it's also surprising how much of pottery is all about the FEEL of things. To get better we'll probably have to take an in person class or just practice a whole bunch. -E

...you were right ;P At the last minute, Evan decided to add cat ears to his.

You may be surprised that I did not, but it's because I was trying to mimic a specific artist's style (we'll shout them out in the video!) so mine has little arms and legs. Everyone pray for the structural integrity of my arms and legs

We're gonna format this one as a "cheap vs expensive" kinda like we did for our first candle making video and our bath bomb video. Evan got the "kids" kit (aka the cheap one) and I'm using the big boy "real" pottery wheel (it's not THE most expensive one out there, but definitely more than the kit!)

Also, did we overdo it on the plastic wrap and protective suits? Maybe ;P
This is the kid...

So Katelyn is editing a video and I got this crazy urge to just start a project and not even film it. I know. I'm sorry 🤣 It's a somewhat simple build that is basically a fancy box with a COB LED strip embedded inside. I've built the frame but still need to build a front panel (everything is held in place right now with blue tape). I'm building this frame for something really cool that actually somewhat parallels our current interests: back in 2014 (before we started YouTube) there was a K...

Have you ever been part way through a project and decided to throw out a ton of the experiments and work you just did because you think you now have a better idea? Well that is what hit me part way through this dice video and Katelyn was nice enough to not guilt me too much for it.
First, a little background: my initial dream idea was to have 1 LED per face of each dice but even though the LEDs are really small, they are not THAT small. Instead we next went with a design of 6 LEDs...

SPOILER ALERT, spoiler alert: The wireless power transmitter dice tray is complete and looks great! Why yes that is a nice black velvet bottom we have installed, thanks for noticing (not flocked, just adhesive). Fully laser cut and designed with a power outlet on the side. The bottom is almost entirely hollow with a few structural reinforcing elements. We went ahead and used hot glue to hold everything in place for now since it's actually one of the strongest "temporary" (removable via libera...

So in our next main channel video where we make wireless LED dice, we're also building a custom dice tray to hold the electronics that make the dice light up! Katelyn dusted off her graphic designer tablet and also made an awesome engraving for us to laser etch on the sides of the tray. Of course we had to include the Supurrvisor but did anyone catch the hidden E&K on the other panel? We love being able to take a little bit longer on some projects so we can go extra on details like this. ...

- Will we actually keep this installed?
- What other cursed velvet things can we make?
- What other cursed toilets can we make? (beans?!)
- What we thought it would feel like vs what it did feel like

A question we got from several people after the last post about our velvet toilet seat was “how will you clean it? 🤢🤢🤢” (I added the emoji’s but I imagine they were there in spirit). As we mentioned, we had plans to do some “waterproofing” tests on the small scale pieces but ALSO Evan’s parents came over and his mom suggested testing how they hold up to cleaning products, not just liquid in general.

Hi y'all! So a while ago I got a really cool slow motion camera and I've been experimenting/learning how to use it some in between videos. I think I am comfortable enough with it's use to maybe try one of the ideas I've had for it: SLOW MOTION LIVE! Basically the idea would be to do a live stream and the two of us take requests and input live for things to try from our audience. But we want to make sure we have some supplies on hand and maybe even guide the theme of the live stream so we can ...

When brainstorming how to make the bean phone case a reality we debated how to get the bean shapes into the case - should we pour silicone around beans to make the case itself have a bean texture? Or do we embed the beans themselves into the case?
We went with the embedded beans :)
This meant we had to paint the beans to look more "beany," so we did that by putting alcohol ink in a spray bottle and spraying dried white beans

...we're making a phone case out of beans 😆😬
Evan found these phone cases meant for sublimation (image transferring) that come apart into various pieces, meaning we could take them apart and make a mold from the backing. Our original idea when he found these was to make a resin phone case. But then I went and threw a wrench in that because I wanted to make resin that looked like baked beans, and well here we are :P -Katelyn

Basically, a few keen-eyed viewers in our Twitch chat recently noticed that when we get up and leave the room, we are going to the opposite side (ie, the door is on the other side now). This is because we flipped the whole streaming room around as part of a makeover! We hadn't counted on people noticing haha, so we hadn't shared about it yet because I have no clue wh...
