Big-Hearted Bosko is the 2nd of 3 scans I've received back (still waiting for Jack and the Beanstalk).
This film as never been restored & released by WB (or if it's restored, it has not been released). It has only ever been released on VHS and DVD by the appropriately named Bosko video company, which sadly isn't around anymore.
If anyone has has those releases or seen them, many of those prints are in bad shape with a tremendous amount of scratches, which can see on the title ...

I've received 2 out of the 3 films I had scanned back (the other is Bosko, will post an update later).
Compared to the laserdisc version on the right, the 16mm has the uncropped image. Most of the laserdisc releases were significantly cropped. You can see the "quotation marks " on the blue ribbon title card above compared to the cropped version.

This week I am sending out 3 films to be scanned. I'm going with a different company this time that has a quicker turn around time. The previous scanner takes 4-6wks. The hope is, once received, I'll get these back in 1-2 weeks.

One film being scanned is an early (1938) Tex Avery film. This film has not been released since Laserdisc, possibly due to objectionable Native American portrayals. My print ...

I'm going out of town, but I wanted to share some progress with the Coal Black restoration.
I've finished my third round of color grading and now am adjusting little things here and there. Once I'm finally done with color, then I'll move on to flicker, noise, etc before finishing it up.
Here is a video of my progress. Though I've done 3 rounds of color, this clip features round 2 only.

After finally finishing MTM, I left both of my editing laptops at work, so no editing at home. Here is the first disc from Betty Boop the Definitive Collection laserdisc that contains 8 Talkartoons. This is on my YT channel, but this file obviously has not under youtube's compression algorithm.

I just received a few screen shots from the scan of Coal Black.
I should be receiving the scan by the end of the week or early next week.
When I receive it, I'll do a quick initial color grading, and I'll make a comparison video with Thinderbean's version.

I redid my original remaster of this film since I acquired a more capable laptop.
The SD original print that I possess was upscaled to 4k. I've done additional color grading and added a film grain.
This download is large, 43Gb.

Today I'm sending out three 16mms to be scanned: Coal Black, Jerky Turkey, and a Felix the Cat film. Should get them back in a few weeks. Hopefully I'll be done with Minnie the Moocher, Out of the Inkwell, and the 4k upgrade of Mr Bug by time these are returned.

This is a scaled down version (Full HD down from 4k).
This is the first complete draft and is post-color correction/grading, flicker reduction, noise reduction, stabilization, cropping. I've also added a medium film grain.
If you have any feedback, please leave here.
You may download this if you wish, it's about 800mb.

There is scare footage of this show on the Internet.
In 1958, Fleischer revived Out of the Inkwell Films, Inc. and partnered with his former animator Hal Seeger to produce 100 color Out of the Inkwell (1960–1961) cartoons for television. Actor Larry Storch performed the voices for Koko and supporting characters Kokonut and Mean Moe.
This 5 minute episode (Jungle Bungle) is from a 16mm 4k scan. Work is ongoing concurrently with Minnie the Moocher.

Typically on a restoration project, I try to improve the opening credits/sequence as much as possible. This helps me develop the workflow that I will utilize for the rest of the restoration.
This update took a week of work and much problem solving to begin to develop a possible workflow for this film. The major problems in this print are the degree of flickering, it's graininess, and general damage. Fixing each of these on their own introduces other problems (e.g., loss of sharpne...

I have a 35mm print of Minnie the Moocher, which I recently had a 4k scan done. It was reportedly made from a fine-grain master (though I have my doubts). Though the print itself is relatively recent (8 years-old), all the problems with the master have been captured including dust/dirt/scratches and other damage, splices, and image fading/degrading.
Here is my initial pass at color correcting the opening the sequence. This is color correction only and no flicker reduction, noise reducti...
