Waystone - sketch

A sketch idea I've had for a while.  I plan on this being a black and white image later on, with an accompanying post about the gnome-folk of my world, and what they were inspired by.  I'm hoping to do this for each of the ancestries, with maybe Lorrnath being next.

The Javarran will likely need a re-write and I don't have the will to go through figuring them out just yet.  It tends to be a monumental amount of work.

Leaves are just starting to turn, and I need a sweater when I go out for walks in the morning.

Inks for the Pumpkins image.  It took a couple days to get these done and the weather has finally relented and changed to seasonal.  I'll be working on getting this coloured in the short term.

I've filled in some of the details in the sketch with Cinders and Hyrahittia.  Namely finishing figuring out the perspective of the building behind them.  Tiling on a roof at that angle is a pain, but worth detailing out.

Added some appropriate 'out on the cooler evening' clothing.. or not.  Honestly Cinders isn't affected by weather due to her nature, and Hyrah has tea.

Under a Dead Star

Wow, I've been quiet here (and pretty much everywhere) for longer than I would have liked.  I still feel like its a bit of a time portal theme, where one moment it's mid-July, and you look up and you are over half way through August.

I normally love August.  Its the 'wander to Autumn' month that has me and the brain-pony doing berserk-running-circles like a cat that just used the litter-box.

I've been working over a disconnect I've had with my planar 'headspace'.  The world with which I draw from.  It's not tied as much to burnout as it is to depression and the general feeling of how reality is just getting worse with every groaning click of the clock.

It helped that I was able to at least draw from another's world for a time, and that I have this ponderous backlog of sketches to both ink and colour/paint.  It keeps me at least creatively active.

Ellythistle has been on my mind lately, and a fair amount of that was getting ideas of where she, her Khettu companion and her Lorrnathi companion actually live.  

I was afforded some very strong visuals of what their home looks like and the kind of township they live in.  Realizing that it's a fey-based town comprised primarily elves, a few centaur, and some goblins as well (though the non-fel-blooded ones of course).

Heilka - Sketch

I'm a bit behind in getting arty-bits done and posted.  I had to divert a couple of days due to Smokey, my cat, getting diagnosed with kidney disease.  Its common in older mews like him.  He's going on 15 years old now, but it required a lot of running around to get him new food, get a new medication routine and all that fun stuff.

Juning Like I've Never June'd before.

I made the mistake of blinking, and akin to the terrifying statues in Dr. Who, June just appeared in front of me when I opened my eyes.

It really feels wild how fast the months seem to be rampaging by lately.  Perhaps its just due to having a May that has been the busiest health-wise that I've had since I started the caregiver gig.  Perhaps its just the lack of having a moment to check the calendar, but wow did May just get dunked under the water the moment it appeared.

I apologize for being slow to get back to folk's comments on here too.  I've been a bit socially wiped out over the last few weeks just from having to deal with a lot of 'life happenings' going on.  As someone with social anxiety, full days of 'having to people at people' has really left me on empty.

The character a friend of mine might be running in a game.  He was described as a 'Lorrnathi' Witcher in a sense, and I went with the general lighter armor that they use (at least from images I've found of them).

Normally I try to be a bit more 'active' in poses but this is just an establishing shot of what the character might possibly look like, so I didn't want to drop any strange angles or have him cutting a pudding in half or anything.

This Heart is Still Beating

This is one of those 'out of the blue and onto the tablet' kind of pictures.  From an intense flash of imagery of Cinders and Berrand, and the phrase 'This heart is still beating', reminding him that perhaps he's still able to struggle up from the cold dark depths of that water that once took him.

The angle on this difficult, especially with characters with muzzles and characters who's sizes are so different (Berrand is 6'8-ish and Cinders is only 5'2-ish).  But it was vividly...
