こうして、時間がほどけるほどかきものに没頭することが大好き。

薄く開けた窓から、川に飛び込んでいる人々のわいわいが聞こえて来る。

Yesterday, a father and his daughter, about three years old, were sitting across from me. They shared a bowl of udon together.

The daughter was asking her father a lot of questions about the future.

Every now and then, I would hear a conversation that made me stop and think.

"When I'm a great-grandmother, will you still have a dad?"

"Oh, I guess I'll be a really old grandfather."

"Thank you, dad, for marrying mom."

日暮は22時のスペイン、Vigoから書いています。

海辺の街。

1週間前、日本から27時間かけてCartagenaに入り、La Mar de Musicasというフェスティバルで演奏して、Madridへ移動。2公演終え、更に6時間の車移動でVigoに到着しました。

CartagenaとVigoは間反対の海辺の街。

スペインをあっちからこっちへ横断したのですね。

Madridは信じられないほど暑かったです...

3泊の弾丸Montréalから無事に戻って来ました。

創作中はあまりに静か、あまりに耳を澄ませるもので、湖のような心待ちだなと感じていましたが、篭りすぎてもはや糊。

誰かの世界 / No one's world (alt. take)

何日もベッドの上でギターを抱えて眠った。遮光カーテンに穴を開けて、部屋の中に光線が走るのをみていた。用賀、という街に暮らしていた頃に書いた曲です。

I spent countless nights sleeping with my guitar in my arms. I cut a hole in my blackout curtains and watched the light run across the floor. I wrote this song while living in a town called Yoga.

うたはまもりうた / a song is a charm

歌詞もメロディも全く違うけれど、「守り哥」の原型となる、最初のたまごだったんだな、と、今聴くとわかります。

Listening back now, I think that although the lyrics and melody are completely different, this song is in many ways a prototype for “Amuletum”.

月桃染めの色止めをするために、友人と浜まで降りて、しばらく過ごしていました。
新月の大潮により波の移動は速く、午後の太陽があちこちに光を撒く様子が美しかった。
