Introducing: Truck.
I've done the hypermania thing and made like 10 pages in a week. I know the economically intelligent thing would be to release weekly, but I don't know, does a flood drought cycle bother people?

Just some post-work decompression. WHERE COULD THIS BE HEADING HMMMM? And no, it's not a FIFO sequel. a spiritual successor perhaps.

other passages from his final prison correspondences include: "My dearest friend has gone before me. I am to follow. I hope to be with him through eternity."
And there we are! first draft of the work at long long last is completed. It's been almost three years? Three years! I'm absolutely filled with pride over the accomplishment. Ever since I wrote the script I've known the final pages were going to pack a punch and based on reader responses I think I nailed my intention. Now comes th...

I felt this passionate sentiment delivered to the court before his execution was a fitting tribute, and had strong parallels to the process of gay liberation.

Tchaikovsky the Russian composer died from the 'official' cause of cholera from drinking contaminated water, but it is expected/speculated that he actually ended his life due to the social 'court of honour' which demanded he do so as punishment for his homosexuality. Fast forward to 19 year old me reading my online namesake Bukowski BROkowski. get it? (I no longer really consider it as such, now i just think of it like a weird Polish name, but that's the orgin story) Anyways, Bukowski has a p...

just a little teaser for the next comic! (Enormities still has a few pages! I just got excited and couldn't resist starting. In classic fashion I've gone from "i'm just going to make a horny raw-dog fuck comic to relax" to "i'm just going to make a horny raw-dog fuck comic with 10 pages of pre sex character development to relax" Am I joking/ stick around and find out.

Felt a bit inspired for it today, and thought i'd play with style and design a bit in prep for the next project. It's slotted to be a more straight forward porn romp centered around a couple tradie and his apprentice starting a side hustle. I'm loving Chippy here's design enough that there's a good chance him and his prodigious hog will cameo at some point. Stay tuned folks.
Enormities next page is nearing the finishing touches. xoxo

wrote a whole thing. clicked submit, clicked away. came back five hours later and... it's gone? Ugh. Well lets try this again. maybe suddenly it'll post twice.
The lucky coin returns. Love tokens, or Leaden Hearts, were made by convicts who painstakingly smoothed and re-etched coins they'd managed to squirrel away to commemorate/celebrate events and connections etc. You may notice Jack has changed his name to James Nesbitt on the token, this will be his new name in the final draft as I...

Hey team! I'm moving house this week so schedule for the next page is going to be a bit offset while I get the new place set up, internet etc. Not to mention I managed to pack all my reference material for the next page at the bottom of everything like the super genius I am. Please have a painting re-imagining the Eureka Stockade, exploring the historiographical landscape in a homoerotic modern lens or something.

The Ross bridge, approximated above was built in 1836 in Tasmania by convict labour and is the third bridge built in Australia. I took a trip specifically to this bridge once, and my husband kindly suffered my detour (I also rented an officers quarters in town to stay in and it had wonderfully dated tapestries of cherubs everywhere). The Convicts who made the bridge did such a lovely job that they were granted their freedom.

Xrays came back somewhat promising, though his limp remains and is less than comforting. Thanks for your patience on this.
Andrew George Scott the IRL bushranger's family was said to have been cursed with 'the wild drop' an Irish phrase denoting pretty much what you'd expect, a genetic lineage of violent insanity. I wanted to make reference to this. Additional while Draft one will remain Jack Doolan, Jack's Name i've decided will be changed to James Nesbitt (Andrew's IRL bushranging boy...

Well, the vet visit went fine in that we've got some medications and some level of "it's unlikely bad" but I'll give it a week before I get my hopes up for anything.
I've been pretty lax in my reading lately as a result. My free time has been mostly traditional painting or now sculpting. I need to get back into it, I'm halfway into a history of Melbourne, a peoples history of Australia, and The Hermit in Van Dieman's land. I also just ordered 'Journey to the West' and I might read that...

In a moment of "oh hey look at what I forgot" I had to go back and add back scars to all relevant pages. whoops. At least it wasn't as extensive of an edit as having to add Andrew's mustache and gray hairs to every single earlier panel. This is the joy of comics. I do not look forward to the "final touch" pass at all. Just the sheer time that has to go into editing typos and small consistency things and just SAVING files ends up being a slog. It does not help that i am not a particularly pati...

We made it folks. 77 pages in and an extended sex scene. Okay I'd love to give some historical information I haven't gone off on on gay sex but i am DRAWING A BLANK. Uh... there's an art piece that Drew Pettifer did about the start of European gay history in Australia. Part of which is a video installation of two panels of two young men standing and looking at camera. The piece stands for The Wreck of the Zeeyjk, a dutch ship that put two young men to trial off of the WA coast for sodomy. t...

Always nice to learn that in the 1800s they had a specific slang term for fucking on the floor. History is funny like that, how we get this idea of the Victorian age as prim and proper when in reality it was just as wildly 'filthy' as things have always been. Every revisionist fascist will try and talk about some virtuous past, but time is an illusion. We're virtually the same creatures evolutionary as we were 100,000 years ago. Every attempt to legislate human nature will do nothing but ca...

Literacy in early Australia was surprisingly high, relatively speaking, still not everyone would have come to have this skill.
The Hermit of Van Dieman's land was one of the first books published in Australia and has been said to be 'the first Australian novel'. It's author was transported for forgery from England and wrote the book while serving his sentence in Van Diemen's land, go figure. At the time writing and publishing a book while serving a sentence was an offence which could ge...

I recently finished "The Australian Legend" a book on the historical development of Australian national identity. Really engaging read by Russel Ward, which is even more impressive as it was published in 1958, giving him direct access to the preceding generation which witnessed federation. Australia really led the charge on workers rights globally, and Ward hypothesizes one of the reasons for this was the initial absence of a middle class in Australia. Convicts (or 'government men, as they p...

I had a 10 minute panic making this where I couldn't locate my script. It's found thank god. Looks like they've been able to fashion some possum skin cloaks. Tragically by this point the indigenous tribes of Tasmania had been largely genocided. A past which this story doesn't really go into. If you're interested in a heartbreaking and riveting history of the destruction on the Tasmanian indigenous peoples, "Truganini" is a great book. Tasmania has in recent years put some effort into recogni...
