Welcome to the new month and year! Diving into this theme, I was really tempted to explore the lawful plane of Axiom (my legally distinct original vision for a plane of absolute law, which strangely shares its name with a demigod I threw out during Divine Favors). But I had some sense and focused harder on t...

Sometimes you need casual low-level nonmagical items for your players. This would be a great way to reward your 1st to 2nd level players without needing to worry about magical healing potions.

The original and only defining feature of this blade was the obsidian blade. I struggled with the hilt and knuckle guard's design but I like how the spikey bits turned out - it looks more like fangs now!
---
This weapon was allegedly forged by ancient battle mages for the old Necromancy Civil Wars. The glassy edge of this obsidian scimitar reflects like a mirror. The wicked crack that runs the length of the blade pulses gently with a sickly green in knowing response t...

Hi! My good friends over at Confused Clerics has graciously offered me some of their spell cards in exchange for their support for their Kickstarter! These are some really cool spells and I thought it'd be a very nice goody to have while I take a break in December.
The pdfs are double-sided and can be printed as such. Enjoy!

This weapon is also from my home campaign. It took a little bit of tweaking but I like how the sweeps and knuckle guard shaped up to be a heart, complete with an angled crossguard that looks like a piercing arrow.

A cracked pink diamond glimmers at the rose pommel of this silver rapier. From the rose sprouts a rose gold guard and grip, twisting into soft silver roots that crawl up the blade. This rapier once belonged to a magnificent hero bard known to cause unmendable sor...

This weapon was one of the first items to show up in my home campaign. It was first envisioned 3 years ago and had nothing more than the pun and the propensity for a character to spew often unrelated or useless information.
---
Originally forged as a vessel for a pirate's soul, this axe now exists as a simple sentient weapon without a living body. Two ribbed blades made of a turquoise steel, cut like a scallop shell, sprout from this axe's weeded, gnarled handle.

Arcane orange lines thread densely beneath the thin leather of this glove, linked between circular gemstone nodes from the wrist to fingertips. Each node pulses with every charge absorbed from the spell, flickering with dim unrefined energy. Despite the arcane power that flows through the glove, it remains unnaturally cool to wear.

Among the greater agons’ intangible domains of dread, the sombragon is the titular fiend of darkness. Few have seen its true physical form since it is always shrouded by darkness, even among those with darkvision.

The sombragon was designed to fully embody the fear of utter darkness and create a challenge for players whose usual strategy is to "just hit things until they die." How do you pronounce this monster? It's either SOM-bra-gone or som-BRAH-gun but i...

Can't have a fiends themed month without something dedicated to slaying them! Silverspawn is a sort of upgraded silver designed to make this slightly more effective than regular silver.

Since switching to non-upfront payment to avoid double-charging patrons, I'll be trying to release compendiums on the 25th each month instead of 4th week of month.
---
I thought I had planned rather well at the start of the month - about 20 items, 3 monsters, and perhaps a couple pages of lore for the Furnal Planes. Somehow, as the planes developed, it ballooned to 38 pages of content which is the most pages I've produced in a very long time. Broken record, but I...

My initial idea for this was just a basic black chain but it kinda looked pretty boring. Things came together when I decided to add a fiendish head to it so now it's more like an ... evil snake?
---
Sometimes the animated chains of a chain devil find freedom from the devil's control, sustained by an outside source of magic. They slither wildly among the Cinderdeep until tempered by the attunement of another creature.

Looping back to what I said earlier about a diverse breadth of items - I haven't created a staff or wand in a while. This one is a little experimental in that it modifies spells to do something beyond their written effects, which I really like.

This scepter is imbued with a fragment of an agon fiend's desire: the subjugation and fracture of a creature's mind through any means necessary. In the hands of a zealous worshiper, it can subjugate entire towns and trap them in an ...

For every monthly theme I always try to include a broad breadth of item types (which are sometimes unpopular but I like the versatility). These are semi-consumables - usable until a certain requirement is met. I really like these because they're not technically "one-use" but also not overly powerful due to persistence.
---
These talismans are crafted from a body part of fiend either living or dead, their innate magical power channeled through the object. Such creatures rarely ...

Drawing a skull was actually surprisingly easy? I don't know how I managed to make one that looked pretty decent and believable but I'm happy I managed. I also think I got a better handle on fire this time, though the png blending modes don't look kindly upon fire.
---
The weapon's burning skull sees itself. Is it a skull tormented by painful fire? Or is it a living fire caged by a physical skull? It does not know so it must scream and scream and scream.

Another item themed around the devil's contract. This time, it relies more on another fiend granting these items to an unsuspecting character. I think auto-failing death saves as a condition for their use is quite fitting with a devil's desire to accelerate deaths and steal souls.

I wanted to lean harder into the infernal nature of devils (contracts, fire, etc) and make them prominent for this theme. This circlet relies a lot on the GM to adjudicate, but I like the idea of forcibly entering others into a devilish contract without their knowledge. It's something an evil devil might do.
---
A fiend lord typically grants such circlets to worshipers who expounds the ideals of trickery and the deceptive scam of "fair trade." It is never quite clear who benef...

Scythes are pretty cool. I had forgotten I already created a scythe with the "exotic" tag and nearly skinned this weapon as a glaive. I played around with the scythe shape before resting on this one - turns out there's a lot of ways to make them unique!

This scythe bears resemblance to the popular belief in the Grim Reaper, though its original fiendish wielders adhere to no such romantic fantasy. If you see this scythe, you must run — such shadow fiends will not hesitate...

You can't really have demons without bones! This would fit really well with the Fiendish Mask rangers' whole deal with crafting their armor/accessories out of demon and devil bones. I also knew that bone armor is pretty impractical so now it's a bone that sort of grows around a character. I also like the idea of trading some of your hit dice for temporary hit points.

The crackling of growing bones can be heard from this armor while in absolute silence, still retai...

I like the idea that this weapon might try to kill you (and has the means to do so) if you don't listen to it. The balance for the weapon seems fine in the final inspection - it should be hard to get the maximum extra attacks out of this weapon unless you're really multiclassing (it should be rewarding if you're an Eldritch Knight); and even if you are, you'd have to be fighting a lot of enemies within the radius (so not necessarily the most useful if it's a boss or big bad).

The sword originally looked more like a rune-etched blade, but over the course of design I added the mouth and really wanted to try a split-blade look, which led to its current magma-filled interior. The sword also leans on the devil's contract theme, drawing most of its power from the summoning aspect.
---
The blade of the sword opens up in a fiery maw, spewing with hellfire that binds a slain creature to its service. Despite appearances, the specters answer not to the wielde...

This is the first of three legendary weapons, one for each of the three types of fiends: devils, demons, and a new custom type called agons. I really like the idea that "bloodstone" in demon terms is literally a type of gem with a literal heart inside it.

Blood constantly drips from the head of this axe, oozed from a perpetually living heart encased in red bloodstone. The owner of the heart is long since forgotten and the trapped demon refuses to reveal whether it belonged...

A very simple weapon. I'm a really big fan of the hook+rope type weapons and I can't seem to stop making them. I like the idea of the red cracks against black metal as the fiends' sort of design, too, but I should make sure the future items won't all look the same.
