Why I dislike OTT?
Because it is a shit show.

Pro tip is a spl meter. Mine is set to 70 SPL measured at my desk. It's a nice way to reference. If the levels differ between the reference and your track you can perceive one as more bass and shiny (Fletcher Munson Curve). So, a SPL meter medicates that. You can also loudness match after you set your playback volume via LUFS if you like to really nerd out and have a fair reference.

Bit of visual feedback to clear things up.

Adjust the master processing and you are good to go.

Just keep it green, or maybe a little orange bit don't clip. If you want to clip use a clipper :).
First and foremost, great job. You are ready to approach labels :). Second, reference like a mad man and get in that last 10%.
Also, when you make the rack make the reverb 100% WET. I forgot it, still have a bit of a hangover haha

I highly suggest you all reverse engineer any part of a song. Also it will teach you about your room/headphones and the engineers room. In all honesty I don't think the actual artist actually let this song be mixed to begin with.

Hey guys,
This project was supposed to be up a few days ago but will be aired on the 4th of January. You guys get this as early access :). Project file will be out on the 4th.
Merry Christmas and have a good new years celebration. Thank you for the support this year. It helped more then you could imaging.

A lot of little things but the main focus right now should be drums, and bass. The rest is pretty solid as is :). Great job with operator
Got a bit annoyed as my computer kept being cute the last couple of days.. You will see more of it coming up. I think the computer also needs a christmas break haha
Welcome to the world of mixing. You can always route and put in overall processing. It's an infinite amount of possibility and as creative as the music production process :).

If your creativity needs control limit yourself with a default project, if not leave it free and explore.

Konari is one of the Patron's and this track was mixed after watching one of the PML courses. It is a very impressive mix and it sounds balanced overall. Definitely ready to release as is and all the options mentioned will only open the track up more/control low end/create impact :).

I did not read the book on mixing. It seems like an incredible read but try to read through the lines. 2bus is a mighty tool when used to add a bit of groove (glue). My take goes further then this as you can see in the video.

Nope it does not so good catch Antidote.
Went on a bit of ramble but every time a shiny new piece of kit comes out put the amount of money in your pocket and build another panel. Magic pills unfortunately do not exist.

This really was an epic journey. Massive shoutout to Patron Jono for letting this track get mixed. Here is the link for you to mix along with:
To start again from scratch delete every plugin :) and watch the whole series after you try mixing yourself. A complete headache but the amount you learn goes up tremendously

Some of you all will know this but this trick really makes an immersive experience

Very interesting to see binaural being used. The plugin is free and can be picked up here:

I am currently working on finishing the song to make sure I can make a mix bus episode. This is the part that takes a good amount of work because I have to go through every single second to make sure it's as good as it can get. Most likely I will air an episode for you all on Tuesday. After that the only thing left will be to master. woop woop

Movement is created via slow modulation. With the max for live lfo tool you can literally modulate any parameter in ableton so you should be able to come up with an incredible pad in no time. Just remember to slap reverb on it to throw it to the back of the mix. Also it does not matter if it is out of phase :D.

Pretty cool track. Personally I would pay more attention to the mid side information of the Melodics group as it is very fast. Getting separation in the instruments would be beneficial. The drums work very nice with the melodics so no issues their. Vulf compressor is a filthy beast and I think ghz would come in handy so check them for black friday :D

This video is about heavy kicks, bass and chords. I show how it was all put together and you get to see the simplicity of it all. If I would mix this again I would make it a little heavier.

Main take away:
A sub sine wave has the same volume throughout the frequency spectrum.
Subtractive synthesis uses filters so bass sometimes has more energy then other times. Adding more filters to it via eq is asking for issues and does not give you one simple volume button.
You can go either way but the first version is fast, easy and quick to fix. The second is a complete nightmare with countless user errors begging to happen :).
Cheerio!
