I don't know if I came into this one feeling extra silly or if the movie mood spilled over, but I swear I was on nothing but caffeine for this.

My Hero Academia eps 57-63

Technically I did skip over episode 58 because from what I could tell it was pure filler and it was killing the flow for me. If you guys want I'll go back and watch it next time, but I just didn't feel a need for it in the middle of the licensing exam.

Speaking of which, that's what we're covering today, the rest of the licensing exam and the start of the next school term, in which things come to a head between Midoriya and Bakugo, and we meet some interesting new characters...

Well it's all out in the open now! I'm always a little lost in the details for this show but I actually enjoy that, it makes it more interesting when I'm not sure what people's motivations are and what their responses will be. I'm sure that comes in part from the culture differences, but either way I'm loving this!

I think a movie from a Stephen King novel needs a great director and this one nails it! Carpenter adds just the right amount of everything to makes something that sounds so dumb into something that's actually pretty deep and profound. Thanks to Tom Tattershall for the pick!

Today we cover the first test of the preliminary licensing exam, and we get to see some characters who don't get much screen time normally, and we get some great examples of what class 1-A is all about and why they're so special. Hint hint, it's not because of their quirks 😁

The outright drama basically started at the end of the last episode, and here we keep it going, trying to stay one step ahead of Ishido, the council, and the Catholic church. A pretty tall order, I'd say. Not gonna lie, I get confused by what's going on sometimes, this show does not spoon feed you.

This is the last of the spooky leaning movies for awhile, although the ones I did this month didn't do bad at all, considering. Hopefully I don't have to avoid them completely during the rest of the year anymore. But regardless, next week will be the start of my favorite season which is cozy fall/holiday time and you can look forward to more 80s cult classics along with new Arcane next month!...

How to go on without All Might? That's the path we start down today! UA becomes a boarding school and the students start the provisional license exam. A lot of setup for this so I expect we'll see quite a bit of the exam next week! Enjoy!

Things are picking up, and FAST. The first episode was to set up the world and introduce us to the main characters, this one I feel like was to set up the story and point us where we're going. It's pretty fascinating so far, so I hope you're enjoying it too!

My recording schedule is pretty loose on a good week, but lately I've had at least a plan on recording day. Not this week, though, I made a last minute change to my plans when I decided not to the original movie I was going to do, so I had to find something on the fly. I wanted something horror-ish at least, and something that was fun, and not too long 🤣 Let's see how Fright Night fit the bill!

I think we were both expecting something a little different here but a goofy over-the-top gory horror is ALWAYS fun! I liked how it both created tropes we still see today but also defied a lot of the ones that existed at the time. And admittedly, I'm kind of glad I wasn't alone 😆

I was surprised while doing this edit to see how actually geeked out I was the whole time 🤣 I remember enjoying it, but it was only seeing myself from the outside that I saw how lit up I got, which is a really nice thing to experience. Of course it's not perfect, I could point out a lot of flaws if I wanted to, but that isn't the point. They know it, we know it. The point is how happy it made me feel, so I hope you guys enjoy it too!

Glad I decided to give it a chance in the end, I was very nervous about what Disney would do to it. Luckily they seemed content to let the people who get this franchise just go for it. Maybe it was my expectations being on the rock bottom, but I think I actually enjoyed this one more than 2. Or maybe because they just wanted to play and found a way to do it without being pretentious or messing up other stories. Either way, can't wait to find out what you think about it!

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian youtube cut

Such a fun time, I loved being able to just hit the ground running and get into a new story right away. A little sad that Teddy Roosevelt took a bit of a back seat but he still definitely made his presence felt, and I ADORED having more from Jed and Octavius. Amy Adams as Amelia Earhart was a nice addition as well. Hope you like it!
