[ESSAY SERIES] - On Newtypes

Decades before Fukui penned his personal essay on Newtypes, there were a couple of other essays that graced the pages of G20 magazine. Longtime Gundam staffer Tadashi Nagase posits Tomino drawing from a wellspring of history to weave some more complex narratives for Newtype (which bolsters Fukui's otherworldly claims, oddly enough) while Tsukasa Shikano takes a more science-based approach. Wrapping up the next three chapters of Hi-Streamer, so stay tuned.

I do have to say I enjoy translating Rosemary's dialogue in this. She's such a fun character. Anywho, onto novels this week! Enjoy, and let me know if anything seems dorked up! Also, I should note, I'm not entirely sure why there seems to be a degradation in image quality despite the transition to larger images in this particular volume. Even without cracking from the Kindle version, the quality seems kinda smudged in parts (it's not me!).

Diving back into some more of the background material (ish?), but when Gundam Ace first kicked off, they had a bunch of killer background material for the show (like how the super detailed look of the Zaku monoeye shattering inadvertently kicked off not just the MSV line but background lore!). Written by Ryusuke Hikawa (anime critic and writer), he tends to wax a bit poetic (at least when gushing over Yas in this first issue!) but offers some interesting tidbits as the installments progress. ...

[CROSSBONE GHOST] Vol.05 Complete

Going to steamroll this one out to get it done (retranslating is done, it's just the damn Photoshop work that's taking forever). Hopefully folks enjoy this version a bit more than the word salad version that's currently out there (and just flat out wrong in a lot of places). Definitely shouldn't have given up on this. It's fun when you sit and think about the dialogue.
