Moonbase arcade restoration - gone wrong.
This is the result of a 4-month long project which has just been a real pain, as you will see. Subtitles and thumbnail still to come.

This is has been in the works for a few months and is finally done. Hope you enjoy. This is the new pride and joy of my collection! I still need to make a proper thumbnail for it, as usual.

Update - I uploaded a new version that fixed the typo everyone was telling me about. For some reason with the new Patreon layout I couldn't figure out how to edit the link to the video, only the text. So I had to delete the old post.

This will be here all weekend before it goes live, as I'm literally headed out the door to Austin for Classic Game Fest. There's lot of fun side-stories in this video beyond the restoration. Hope you enjoy!

This has been on my to-do list for about 4 or 5 months now. Finally got it done. Subtitles are already done. I'll get a better thumbnail done this evening.

Sorry for the radio silence the last few weeks. I've spent most of my time working on shipping the backlog of Genesis games, all 530 copies. I was also working on a restoration video of a Moonbase arcade machine, which is about 80% done and edited, but I ran into a problem I don't know how to fix with the CRT driver board, so I've had to shelve that video and move on to something else for the moment.
Current projects are:
-Restoration of Apple IIc Plus
-Restora...
Just some thoughts on the reactions to the last few videos, as well as previews on what is coming down the pipeline.

This video has been in the works for over a year now, I know I've mentioned it a few times, but it seemed to always get put on the back burner. Anyway, I finished it up this weekend. Not my usual type of material, of course, but I hope you find it interesting.
Working on subtitles now. Still trying to think of a good thumbnail. Hopefully have that finished tomorrow!
2022-05-30 20:08:53 +0000 UTC View PostIn order to reduce the number of Petscii Robots related videos that some people were irritated with last year, I crammed a ton of stuff in this one video. I'll release this tomorrow with proper subtitles and a better thumbnail. Also at the end of the video I promise a "how-to" video as part of the playlist, but that isn't done yet. I also hope to have that done tomorrow.
At the moment I'm about to head over to the GeekPub to record our next two podcasts. I...
Here we go! As usual, the subtitles/thumbnail will be done by tomorrow. Enjoy!

This one has been in the planning for over a year now. Finally found the time to make it. I'll do a new thumbnail and closed captions before release tomorrow.
I'll at the Lanfest "Lan all night" convention in Grapevine, Texas this weekend if anyone wants to stop by. I should be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at my own booth.

Many of you have been asking when the next geekbits podcast would be out. We recorded two of them last weekend. Hint - we almost always record two when we get together. You'll notice we are wearing the same clothes in pairs of episodes. :-). Anyway, #10 is finished with the editing process and is finally available! Enjoy!
I For those wanting to know what is coming up next. I have 9 videos I'm working on at the moment. Talking clocks will...
Sorry I wasn't able to release this early on Patreon, but there was an embargo. And for me it released at 5:00 in the morning on a schedule. But anyway, better late than never. I hope you enjoy.

Here's a quick supplement to the Amiga 1000 documentary. Thumbnail and captions will be added tomorrow.

It's about time to ramble on about upcoming projects.

Well, here we are. Took a little more than 3 weeks to make this. Subtitles and thumbnail will be finished tomorrow. If you find any inaccuracies, let me know. Although I've already been checking in periodically with some Amiga experts as I made this to make sure everything was accurate. So hopefully we're all good!

You asked for it! (well, some of you dd!) and now it is available in the store for $10 as a digital download.
On another note, I'm still working on the Amiga documentary. I probably need another 2 weeks to finish it. Well, part 1 anyway. I have the first 10 minutes fully edited. I'd like to connect with some Amiga history experts to help validate some of this information before the final video is complete. So if you feel you're an expert on the topic, espec...

This is a little video I've been working on over the last 3 weeks while also trying to get hundreds of C128 and Amiga robot orders out the door. Now that I'm done with both, I plan to plow full-steam-ahead into the Amiga documentary.

Here's that amiga restoration I mentioned. I had to re-edit the entire project on my laptop since I wasn't able to recover the project files from the dead hard drive.
Thumbnails and subtitles will be finished tomorrow.
The new Geekbits podcast is out. In this episode, we discuss the history of EVs over the last 10 years and some of the challenges that the industry has faced. Then we talk about where we are at now, and where we'll be in 10 years.
Also, Last night - the hard drive failed on my main computer that I do video editing on. Right in the middle of using it. Granted, I was using a 10 year old Mac with a traditional magnetic hard drive. I guess it was just a matter of time.&nbs...

For those fans of the Commodore Amiga and Sinclair Spectrum, both versions are now available on the webstore. I won't be doing a video about either one of these for a few months, so I just wanted to let people know they were available.

2021-12-20 01:36:00 +0000 UTC View PostI'm trying to get all of my ducks in a row for this Amiga documentary. I have a stock Amiga 1000 that was donated to me which will be a significant part of the documentary since that's where it all started. But it's super dirty and yellowed. I need to restore/retrobrite it.
I'm sort of stuck in the analysis paralysis over whether to do the restoration behind the scenes, which will take 3-5 days, or do a restoration episode on it which will take 2 weeks to film a...

In this podcast we chat about what today might be like if computer chips had never progressed beyond the technology of 1982.
Sorry for the double-post. I accidentally posted this as a video the first time around instead of a link. It wouldn't let me change it without making a new post.
I finally started feeling well enough finish up this video the last few days. And here it is. I still need to come up with a thumbnail and then I'll release it tomorrow.
2021-11-10 21:32:24 +0000 UTC View PostJust wanted to let everyone know what has been going on with the channel and with me. I usually do these as video updates but just haven't been able to find the spare time the last month or so. So this time it will just be text. But I'll keep it short and to the point.
The main thing consuming about 90% of my time the last month has been juggling the 7 different ports of Petscii Robots that are in the works. Even though other people are coding these ports, I've b...

I've got 4 long-term projects I'm working on right now, so I needed another short term project to fill in the gap. I think this one worked out nicely.
