These were the two strips about Dorothy's radicalization before I added another strip in the middle to flesh it out a bit more. I wanted to highlight more the privilege of leaving this discomfort zone and returning home to their boyfriends, plus I wanted to more closely link Dorothy's true political awakening with her queer awakening.

So when I finished this strip originally, I hadn't visited Indiana University in almost 5 years -- that pandemic (and later repeated poorly-timed school-aged-children illnesses) really threw off my annual visiting schedule!
