Home alone

Fear not, I haven't actually had any kind lf an anxiety spike - but I am going to make myself a bracelet out of an old belt and soda tabs! I could buy something of that style online, but true goth/punk style spirit is all about DIY and I wanted it to be legit!

(Also I still had the old belt laying about. It originally had studs on it, but when the belt broke I pried the studs out and put them on my new belt. The old one is still good craft material.)

More animation experiments

Some pieces of art are done when you're proud of it, and some are done when you're sick of it. With this one, I just decided "screw it, that'll do" once I realised that continuing to mess with it was only making it messier, instead of improving it. So here it is as is.

Autumn time

Summer is finally over, and we have gotten into my favourite season! My boyfriend - who likes winter the best - has more than welcomed the cooling temperatures. We have no proper AC and his comfort zone is about 15-18 celsius indoors.

Multitask machines

So, my boyfriend got Space Marine 2, and he has to take breaks from playing since we don't have air conditioning and his computer heats up the whole apartment. It's like sitting in front of a fireplace.

Memory problems

I keep my comic ideas on a list on the notes of my phone, writing down new ones as soon as I get them - some of my comic ideas sit on the list for a long time, because I can't think of a fun way to execute them. I don't know how I can tell when there's something missing, but the execution of the comic just doesn't emerge naturally. A comic that came to me in a dream

I don't remember anything else about the dream I had last night, except that I saw something so funny that I had to draw a quick sketch comic about it, but nobody around me in the dream wanted to look at the comic or read it. Waking up, I still roughly remembered what the comic was like, so I had to draw it for real.

Inconvenient expressions of affection

It's funny how you'll be annoyed about your partner's habit of showing affection in a way or situation that's inconvenient for you, until the one time when they neglect to do it.

Gaming

So we are learning how to play the Spearhead version of -Age of Sigmar, which is basically the simplified baby wheels version of a simpler version of Warhammer 40k. I won't go in too deep to the rules, but there is a part in the game where you can throw a die for each little figurine in a specific unit, twice, all at the same time. Not 25, of course, that would be ridiculous. Only 20. And there's two of those units, so you can throw 20 dice all at the same time, twice.

Peer review

That's the best part of having a whole group chat with a bunch of your friends - you can ask them to say their opinion on frivolous things with no context, and get their honest opinion before disclosing who was of which opinion.

IT at home

This literally happened - my boyfriend was gaming with his brother and I interrupted it because trying to restart my computer again and again didn't work. Turns out I was doing that wrong. My boyfriend works in IT - he knows exactly how often these things happen.

Camping

(okay, it wasn't really camping as much as we simply had a sleepover at my boyfriend's family's back yard. But we did make a fire, and slept in tents!)

Inevitable laws of nature

I have recently started using an umbrella as a parasol on hot sunny days. I have discovered that being equally prepared for both sunshine and rain means there will be neither. Behold this perfectly balanced 50% cloud cover.

Company for contrast

I went to see friends this weekend! Had a great time and it was refreshing to see them all again. I had this thought that was so abstract that I wasn't sure how to express it verbally so I had to make a visual comic about it. I don't know if it makes any sense like this either.

Miniature flaws

Eye of the beholder

Almost all of my comics are based in my life with my partner, and we have this conversation often. It was only after I finished drawing this that I started thinking I might have drawn this exact comic before.

Time is an illusion

My boyfriend isn't the type for unconventional meals. Waking up past 10:30 really messes up my schedules.

Rain sneezes

We don't know why it happens, we've only just recently made the connection between days when he's sneezing like crazy for no apparent reason, and days when it rains. And the harder he sneezed before, the harder it is about to rain.

For the crime of being annoying

He actually did it. I thought that that's only possible in cartoons, I've never seen or heard of somebody actually getting a fly with a rolled-up newspaper before.

Birdwatching

Dual light

I've been doing digital paintings (and mostly deleting them as soon as I've finished them) instead of doing any of my actual work. This one I'm sharing because I'm actually proud of it - I finally figured out how to do dual light sources!
