WIP GIFs + generally talking about the miniseries!!! ( late post, sorry!! )

i completely forgot about making the update post until right now, but things are going very well!!! i've managed to set some sort of schedule that will help make things more manageable, and i have a majority of the animation storyboarded already! so it's pretty much just an animation sprint

some new responsibilities i have with the miniseries though is how i'd be doing sound effects and background music! for the second episode i'd be using a handful of instrumental tracks one of my frie...

im gonna make a miniseries!!! or at least, i plan to try! i'm unsure of the exact length in minutes but it'd overall be pretty short, probably being under 10 minutes with all the episode lengths combined.

there's gonna be 3 episodes, the first probably being around 2 minutes? the second episode being over 2 minutes (guaranteed because one of the background tracks i plan to use in full is 2 minutes long), and the third episode being completely unknown because it's mostly unplanned at the...

some behind the scenes on "spring cleaning"!

right now i'm taking a break to figure out what to do next and i still wanted something to upload for sunday, so i figured i'd post some behind the scenes stuff!!

all the stop motion backgrounds were done with blender, where id just animate the parts moving then render each image out then either import it to tvpaint, or in the event that it's a greenscreened element, i use it in vegas later on! in some cases i even did some animation in vegas an re-exported that as an image sequence to ...

by all means, the animation is practically finished at this point! about 95% of the animation is complete, where all of it is colored and cleaned up, and all of the backgrounds are done too! that being said, i do want to do One last delay to June 2nd, for no reason other than i want to do some minor touch-ups that i think will go a long way!

the rough animation is very very nearly almost done and by extension so is the animation as a whole!!! i'm going to be releasing the animation on the 31st! soon all that'll be left is colors and backgrounds, where i plan to do all the backgrounds in construction paper cutout stop motion!! also apparently e-mail notifications for my posts were off the whole time so they're on now! (and you can turn them off in your profile settings if you want)

there's nothing i have to show GIF-wise this week since i've just been doing cleanup of all the currently existing scenes ahead of time (since doing it all at once takes a long time and stinks), this week though is gonna be more interesting because i'm aiming to do a big animation sprint!

in terms of progress, i am currently 67.9% done (443 frames out of 652) with the rough animation!! the animation will be coming out before the end of the month! it's a fairly short one, being only 36 seconds, it's just taken a while due to the whole running away thing. trying to stay on track!

i'm getting used to the new setup! things are a bit slow now as usual, but i assume + am hoping that progress will speed up over time as i get more settled in.. plus i just got officially diagnosed with medication coming very soon!! thank you so much for your patience throughout all of this!!!

some experiments in replicating fipnote style! + little progress update

i was curious about how possible it would be to replicate a flipnote brush and fill tool style in the animation software i use, and it turns out, it's very possible!! i actually originally wanted to have some short scenes of "stupid horse" look like this because the song really reminded me of flipnote, though unfortunately i never really thought to just try and replicate the look in my own animation software and gave up on the concept.

i was able to get an apartment!!!!! i signed the lease earlier this week, where my move-in date is tomorrow.....

my computer is re-built and fully operational with my art tablet and everything, and we were able to grab a desk from ikea that we can assemble in the apartment!! which in other words means that i'll be able to properly animate again within the week!!!!!

things are going well!!! its been really nice to be able to meet up with my SO after so many years of being together long-distance, and her parents have been very nice and understanding of the situation where they're letting me stay here for some time while we find a place. my computer also made it in one piece! we were able to find replacements for any missing parts so now it's up and running again. my art tablet made it too! not feeling so tense all the time is a very welcome change of pace...

sunday update!!!! whats cookin!!

the last week was spent planning, pretty much! though in that i ultimately decided to put the original animation off for a bit in favor of something shorter for now, that being an animation of Jack Stauber's "Spring Cleaning", which is something i've wanted to animate for a while! and animation will be starting this week!!

STUPID HORSE IS OUT!!!!!!

YAAHHOOO!!!!! the last compromise i had to make was typing the credits instead of hand-writing them, which i'm glad i did because that still took a good few hours! i managed to kind of just barely squeeze this video out by the deadline (also in part due to tvpaint suddenly exporting with incorrect colors at the last second), i hope you enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

the colors will be finished TODAY!!! then after that theres backgrounds, the patron credits, compositing, and then the animation's completely finished!!

THE FINAL DELAY! FEB 5TH!

the absolute final date is February 5th!

this is only out of absolute necessity, as soon as i started coloring the animation, it hit me just how long it would take, where instead of taking ~2 days to color like my past animations, it's already taken 4 days and still isn't finished, and i'd still have backgrounds + the patron credits to do!

really the most obvious reason is that there are a LOT more colors in this animation, as seen above in my "palettes", combined...

as of today, all of the rough animation is finished, any previously unfinished scenes are finished, and the cleanup is also finished!! this last week will be mostly spent on color + backgrounds.....

the hard deadline for releasing the animation will be January 31st! it's likely to release slightly earlier depending on how long colors/backgrounds will take!!

also, sony vegas suddenly decided to obey my will and allow me to export animation at 18fps, so now i can do...
