Haunted

This is the final set of my creative collaboration back in December. We didn’t have a solid concept for this set, but we were both really inspired by the ghostly Victorian era vibe. I definitely wanted to convey that other worldy/dimension feeling. I love how it almost looks like I’m transporting myself from or to another dimension. I’m also pretty fascinated with the time period so this was really fun for me. What do you guys think??

Another weekend in the woods - Part 1

*2/21/24 Post edited to include more images.

This set of images is from my weekend getaway in the woods with my good friend back in early January. Between my own images and a sneak peak of what we created together, I'm super stoked and can't wait to share them all! For now, I hope you enjoy part 1!

As soon as I walked upstairs in the air bnb and saw this lamp, I was obsessed. I knew I was going to take a lot of self ports with it.  Th...

The ghost of me

This is another personal self portrait. It's about being seen. I think it's something that we all struggle with. It takes so much courage to display our true authentic selves and to take the emotional wall we've built down enough to let someone in, and to trust that we are worthy enough for them to accept us as we are. We all have our defense mechanisms that we feel are necessary for self preservation. For me, when I feel unloved, unseen, and rejected, I literally disappear from someone's lif...

Finding my power

This is another very personal set. It's about embracing your vulnerability, honoring your authenticity, and finding your power. It's about the personal storm that has to occur in our mind, heart, and soul in order for us to find our way back home to ourselves. It's about turning pain in power and using the pain to fuel our hearts to get us to where we belong, wherever that may be. We are so much more than we know. Honor the wound, honor the emotions, but always remember the power lives within...

Light Chakras. Color or B&W?

Shot this set a while ago. Nothing crazy creative or super meaningful. I'm a huge fan of light play and I love the way the sun comes through my bedroom window. The first two were shot with my Pentax K1000 on Kodak Portra 800. The second two were shot with my Pentax LX on Kodak Tri-X 400. As much as I love B&W, I absolutely love the warm tones and colors of Portra 800. Do you prefer the color set or the B&W set??

BTS- Another weekend in the woods

Just a little sneak peak of a few upcoming sets! I recently stayed at this amazing little air bnb with my good friend Eric. It was such a peaceful and inspiring environment and so hard to leave! We relaxed, we laughed, and we created. It was also the first time in probably a few years that I had posed for him for more than a couple of frames which was really fun. We used to shoot together a lot, so it felt like old times. Really excited to share these! Stay tuned <3 j

Foggy Dreams

I shot this series after "Ghostly Roses." It feels a little cliche' but really wanted to experiment more with steam from the shower. I also wanted to shoot this set in color. The first image is my favorite. I love how the steam creates the out of focus almost distorted filter. I also shot this set on Kodak Portra 800 so I'm really happy with how warm and soft the tones are. Which is your favorite of the set? I'll also be posting digital downloads from this set for my Tier #1 & #2 subs :)&...

Light & Motion

I asked and you guys spoke, so here's a little color for you! This was the last set from my studio collab back in December. No crazy concept for these, just a lot of experimentation with slow shutter speeds. I love the abstract element that motion blur can add to a photo, especially in the second one. It was also a chance for me to put on some of my favorite music, dance like a weirdo, and pretend I was as fashion model :) Which one is your favorite?

BTS/How it was made- Lily double exposure

I thought I'd give you just a little glimpse of how one of my most popular photos was created. This just goes to show you that you don't need a lot of space or fancy props to create a beautiful image. This photo was literally made next to a toilet, and I adore it. Film meets the imagination. This photo was shot on expired Kodak Gold a few years ago. I shot the first frame of myself in the mirror vertically and the second of the lily photographs (which my mom has had forever) horizontally. I l...

Weep for me Willow

A double exposure that I'm particularly proud of! Taken about a month or so ago. Do you have a favorite tree? This is one of mine. I've known this tree for over 25 years. I grew up with this tree and it's become a part of me. The branches are everything to me. I love how they look just like veins, reminding us that the same energy and connection runs through everything and everyone. I also love how the branches flow with my arms and hands so perfectly, that it looks like I'm being held or lov...

Enchanted Walk

These are a couple of shots taken years ago by my good friend who has also been my mentor in shooting film. I've always loved them. We had been creating art together already for years, but this was only our second shoot on film. I absolutely love the colors that he captured and the the wandering magical feeling that I get when I look back at them. I lot of my own personal work is heavy with emotion so it's nice to look back at images that I've co created that give me a sense of peace and insp...

Stuck in my head - Full set

For being a very experimental set, I was really happy with the way these turned out. I'm still working on shutter speed to get the right motion blurs and overall framing while using the self timer, but I'm getting there. I think the double exposures turned out super neat and really capture what it's like to feel stuck in your head by anxiety and depression and the feeling of trying to escape it. I also wanted to capture a glimpse into my own personal journey towards healing and self love (ima...

Stuck in my head - First look!

I was planning on sharing a cropped and censored version of this one on my IG tomorrow, but wanted to share it here with you all first! This is from a recent set of double exposures  (I'll be sharing the others later!) that I shot on my Pentax LX on Kodak T-Max 400.

I'm really proud of this one and honestly the whole set. I've struggled with anxiety and depression for most of my life. When I was really young, I actually cut myself for a couple of...

Ghostly Roses

So, here it is guys! There's honestly so much I could say about this set. Shot on my Pentax LX with a 43mm lens and Kodak Tri-Max 400 film. I shot the first two right out of the shower, with heavy steam. The third was shot an hour or two after when all the steam had evaporated. I actually thought that I had shot these in color and then when I saw them, remembered that for some reason, I wasn't able to get the proper exposure I needed with my Pentax K1000 which had the color film in it.  ...

Risen

This was a very experimental and powerful shoot for me. Not only because I was co-creating with another artist, but I was out of my comfort zone as far as my normal shooting style. I drew inspiration from Ancient Egyptian burial ceremonies, the huge role that Goddesses played in the culture, and the central belief in the afterlife.  I've always had such a fascination with the culture and time period so this shoot was actually really fun for me. I really wanted to capture the beauty that ...

BTS - Something Different....

Just a little sneak peak at a set that super excited to be sharing soon! This was my last creative collab of 2023 and very different than my normal style of shooting. I really wanted to get experimental and explore a different side of my creativity that I don't often embrace. If I could describe this shoot in two words it would be ghostly and ethereal. I had a darker vision for this shoot, but still wanted to honor the femininity and vulnerability that I aim to capture in my art. So excited t...

First experience.

These images are from my very first time using a self timer for self portraits. I debated on whether to post them or not, mostly because I don't feel that there's anything particularly special about them. But, I'm still proud of them. I still created something out of experimentation and emotional expression, and I feel like that is worth sharing.

I'm used to shooting self ports with my Pentax K1000 which doesn't have a self timer option. Shooting with the LX has really allowed me to exp...

BTS - Ghostly Roses

Just a little sneak peak at a set that I shot a couple of weeks ago and am super excited to share! A lot of the times when I get an idea for a shot, it'll come to me in a flash of the image....ironically almost like a camera flash going off. This was right after a later afternoon shower. I remembered that I had some sherbet colored roses that were just about to start wilting and I thought they'd look ghostly and beautiful with the steam that was trapped in the bathroom. I'm very drawn to a mo...

Weekend in the woods part 2

A couple more from a weekend in the woods with a dear friend. I've hardly modeled at all the last 5 or 6 years, and when I do it's for someone that I trust to capture my vulnerability, femininity, and authenticity. We've not only made beautiful art together, but a beautiful friendship as well. I fell in love with film photography by watching his journey and learning from him along the way. I will forever be in gratitude. Shot on film somewhere in the woods.

My magical place. Color or B&W?

This was from of my my favorite photo shoots I've ever done. I find it so easy to draw inspiration from nature, especially around water. This location is also really special to me and somewhere I feel an incredible sense of peace and belonging, so shooting here with such a talented photographer was a dream! Between the location, colors of Autumn, and an incredibly feminine wardrobe, I felt as close to a Goddess as I think is possible. Tell me what these photos remind you of!

Grow and then bloom.

This self portrait represents 2023 to me. This year started off really hard for me. I realized that I was still very much unhealed and holding on to so much that ultimately would never allow me to evolve into the woman that I want to be and the life that I want to live. I knew that I needed to choose myself and to choose healing. And like any other healing, it's been painful. But for the first time in a long time, I feel proud of myself. I feel authentically myself. I feel like I'm blooming. ...

Light work - Color or B&W?

This was a very experimental series. Shot on two different cameras, two different film stocks, at two different times of the day. The color set was shot on my Pentax K1000/SMC Pentax 50mm with expired Kodak Gold 200. Shot at night in low light, it was super tricky trying to expose them properly. The B&W set was shot with my friends Pentax LX/43mm on Kodak T-Max 400 in early morning light.  Which set and composition do you like best?

Hold Her Close

The moment I chose to hold my vulnerability close to me, and the moment I chose to honor my authenticity, everything changed. I will never hide her again. - Self port shot with expired Kodak Gold. Pentax K100/SMC Pentax 50mm.
