Summer Maintenance

Given how hot it's been lately, it felt like the perfect time to finally get this idea off of the back burner...

Been a while

Not counting the post-birthday "it was just a dream" comic, it's been a while since we've seen Violet, hasn't it?  Now that she and the rest of the gag are drawn, methinks a stream is in order...

Nothing to see here!

One thing I don't particularly miss about commissions, is the pressure I put on myself to finish them within a certain amount of time.  I know other artists can take months to finish theirs, but I feel like I'm on the clock as soon as the commission is paid for.  If I take too long to finish them - say, a week or two - then I feel I've failed.

For now I'll need to choke down that anxiety - the end of the month is creeping up on us, and I should really draw something to add to the ima...

That said, one fun idea that was tossed around during last night's stream, is that Monique would spare the world as long as she's properly "satisfied".  But then when Bill steps up to do his part, she decides "NOPE!" and wipes out the world right then and there.

Only the top two of these are commissions.  On the bottom left is something I'm working on for MaxBlackrabbit - Daisy & Snowblind in a team-up gone horribly right!  And then in the bottom right we have Mrs. Thickley - er, I mean Beakley - from the new Ducktales, because don't even pretend I'm the first to lewd her up!  :)

After not doing commissions in - how long? - it seems I'm a bit rusty.  Not so much in terms of drawing, but staying organized.  After accepting payment for the first few, I started to panic a bit and feel overwhelmed.

"What if I forget something?"  

"Where do I start??"

"What if my boss chooses THIS moment to tell me a contract's been approved?!"  (no sign of that one happening soon)

 "OHCRAP I'M NAKED AND FORGOT TO STUDY FOR THE FINAL EXAM!!"  ...

Commissions! (wait for it...)

Good News - It's been a while since I did commissions, so I'd say we're overdue!  

Bad news - I can't do point commissions this time around.  Freelance work has been too sparse this year, and the two contracts I'd been waiting for have so far showed no signs of actually happening.  And based on past experience, if I don't have any contract work by the end of September, then I probably won't see any until February.

Price-wise, it's $30 per character, inked, or $60 per chara...

August Update

It's a new month, so what might I have planned?  I'm actually in a bit of a holding pattern.  As I type this, I'm expecting to hear back on two contracts soon.  If I get either of them, I may just shut off billing for the month.  If I get neither, then I'll need to have a backup plan or two.

Daisy's rig is something I've been meaning to get back to, but I'm not in the mood for it at the moment.  I'd have to put it back on hold if I get one of these contracts, so why bo...

Now the question is, would it be too weird if I combined these into one image, with Daisy's butt is pressing against aunt Alice's back?  There will at least be some time to decide, since a storm is rolling in, and I won't start streaming until it passes...

Hairy situation

For the sake of drawing something - I've been very short on ideas lately - today I started to revisit Daisy's casual hairdo.  I haven't drawn her with her hair down in a while, because it's almost exactly the same as Mercy's.

So far I'm leaning towards #3, but it feels like a cheat, since in the front it's the same as her work hair.  

Old Motivation

If my intention was to focus on Daisy's rig this month, I'm off to a slow start.  After over a month away from it, it's difficult to just dive back into it.  I haven't been in much of a drawing mood, either, so that kinda puts me in a bind.  The conditions yesterday were JUST right for me to draw a pinup that's been long overdue, though...

Tech Month?

Between Daisy's 3D rig and testing out Unity, I may focus more on technical work this month.  Or over the next week, at least, since I'll be up north.

It's been over a month since I last worked on Daisy's rig, so I'd say she's overdue.  I think her face was about half-rigged, so I'd like to get the other half in place so I can move on to the next major feature - either her breasts, or pose corrections.  Once all of these things are done, so is her core model.  She'll still ...

A Potential Animation Assignment

As much as I agonize over finishing Daisy's rig, you'd think I'd have a clear sense of what I'd use it for.  I'd like to make a film, but unfortunately doing so would also require a finished environment, props, and perhaps another character.  But where lately I've been thinking about making a game, that would give me a whole bunch of animations to work on!  While I'd want the final animations to be 2D, the 3D rig would allow me to block them in much quicker.
