Important Announcement

Towergirls Unity 0.538

It seems that trying to get Golem Princess in this month was a bit of an unrealistic goal.  I am extremely burned out on Towergirls (again) and the 3d dungeon work and artwork is going much more slowly than I had expected.  As a result this patch mostly contains some siege unit additions (two 3d, animated monsters) and some slight balance changes, in addition to some bug fixes that have been plaguing the game for a little while.

The last six princesses are being added to the splash image as we speak (Squire Courtier, Mouse Princess, Dusk Elf Princess, Eldritch Princess, Moth Princess, and Sphinx Princess). We (I) are not dead yet!  This train will keep going!

This (smallish) but long overdue patch marks the re-release of Knight Princess' rescue quest and the terrifying Roll Tower.  Rescue Knight Princess and her band of men from the terrible clutches of the dragon scions!  There's no dungeon map or really any decor yet, but you get to fight Yven, so who cares?

Patch Delay

Unfortunately there likely won't be a game patch released for the end of April.  Pretty much all that remains for engine-work is policy events, and otherwise I have heaps of bug fixes and dialogue parsing to do.  I am extremely burned out on bug fixing, and parsing old dialogue into the new format is about as fun as pulling teeth.

I'm going to be taking a short break for a week or so to try and get over this most recent bout of burnout.  As it turns out, being the only person working on the game, and almost solely fixing bugs, gets tiring very quickly.

On the bright side we're making good progress on that cool stuff (TM) that I've hinted at once or twice.  Hetros and I have been working on turning Chivalric Games into an actual game studio, so we can do stuff like make a page on Steam, or merchandising....

It hasn't been too long since the last patch, and I've been burned out on bug fixing, so there isn't a tremendous amount of bug fixes or new content.  I have managed to include some fixes that should make kingdom management recruiting/building functional once again, along with a few other minor things.  Refreshingly I was able to add in the siege units for both Frozen Church and the Forgotten Garden.  If you care to, it might be fun to mess around with those using the testsiege...

Turns out I broke sieges in 0.529 and no one's told me about it, and I haven't noticed myself.  This is a very WIP 0.531 patch with a fix for that included.  Not even going to bother posting the changelog of what new stuff has been added so far in January- I'll save that for the official patch later this month.

Human Princess Patch Delay

Human Princess' rescue is just about ready but we're still missing a handful of art assets and a little bit of dungeon decorating.  With this in mind I've decided to delay the patch a few days (at the max) to avoid the use of graybox assets. 

On the bright side Peasant/Field Princess' rescue is also partly completed, so we should easily have Field Princess also back into the game and rescuable mid-late October.  More soon to come.

Towergirls Unity 0.526 & Kobold Demo (Public)

I found a fairly big issue with Dialogue Options, in 0.525, so I'm releasing a smaller 0.526 build to address that and some other small bugs.  Not a whole lot of fanfare this time.  Future builds will be released four weeks later to the public as normal.

Human Princess is going well, and it's looking feasible for her rescue to be added back into the Unity version pretty soon.  We'll keep you* informed on how that goes.

Splash Page Update

We have been absolutely terrible at keeping on top of the splash votes and maintaining the splash image.  For that we're deeply sorry.  We've added six princesses* this time, and we'll be holding a new splash vote shortly for adding in a whole another eight or so characters.  Hopefully this will make up at least a little bit for our tardiness.
