Quick Production Update

It has now been two weeks since the last video and I'm sorry to say there will not be a video this week. I never promised fortnightly reviews but it's still the goal. I spent most of last week trying to get a new review series off the ground and by the end of the week it just wasn't ready for shooting. And unfortunately, we didn't have any other projects on the docket. I really hate pushing scripts I'm not fully confident with into production so it was decided that we'd take this week off from p...

NES Review Bucket List

The following is a list of NES games that I have, will, will maybe, and will not review. The idea being that one day I may actually be finished with the system which is kind of exciting. The "Maybe" pile are games that I really just put more time into. Let me know what you think in the comments, I'm sure some of you have serious opinions about the "Nope" pile.

[SSFF] Cave Noire (カーブノア) (GB) Review by Derek Alexander

Quick video update! The new review will be on the very little-known gameboy game Cave Noire. I only found out about this game a few months ago! I've been on/off writing the script ever since I discovered it but it's been an incredible challenge to get "right". I was working on my 5th or 6th draft when I finally threw my hands up and turned my most recent draft over to Grace. With her help we had a break through and finally figured out how to approach the review! When you finally see the review y...

[SSFF] Shatterhand Teaser

So we tried to make an incredibly ambitious script in 6 days, and even though we worked through the weekend and stayed up until 7am last night we just couldn't get it out the door. We decided that in order the get this video to where it needs to be, we have to put it down for now and come back to it after resting through the weekend. We're really really sorry we couldn't finish it for you this week. But we have been busting our butts to finish it! It's about 70%-80% edited so enjoy a short prev...

The Monster Party review is up exclusively for VIP Backers! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6A0mPkx3KM This will go live for everyone else tomorrow morning but you all get to see it first! I'm actually reexport to see if it will be a little better quality but that always takes a few hours. But this is basically the video! Enjoy! And thanks for the support!

More special stuff for my VIP backers! Here's a collection of songs I made for the SSFF bumper. The animation was done by the incredible Clockwork Pixel ( http://bit.ly/ClockworkPixel ) but I took upon myself to make the music. I made three songs. Check out the attachments for the download. Here's a rundown of the songs SSFF Bumper Music 1 2nd: This is what I used, it's a little longer than what appears in the bumper. I pro...

Monster Party Behind the Scenes: very successful shoot! We shot 13 live dialog scenes in under 90 minutes with less than 1 hour setup. Script writing may still be a slow process but this was easily the fastest and smoothest shoot we've ever had. Higher quality with faster production time is the goal and we get closer with every video!

Another quick thing; while working on Jumping Flash I had an idea for a video I don't normally do. Something like "Please Remaster These, If You're Just Going To Remaster Everything". I touched on this in the review but when I heard they were going to remaster God of War 3, the Arkham games, Gears of War I thought, ok I can play ball, you're not going to remake games that really deserve it, just really popular ones. So why haven't we see remakes of certain games then? -Demon's Souls (maybe son...

The shooting Monster Party script is 2,700 words. (For perspective: Clock Tower 2,900, EDF 2017 2,000, Castlevania 3,000, Parasite Eve 3,600.) It was a tough nut to crack because the game does have problems but we're really happy with the script, I think we did this game justice. Game footage has been captured, Grace has started on graphics, but the big task for today will be voice over and live action. Grace has a dr's appointment and then work so it'll be a late night for sure. I'm supposed t...

If yall haven't heard yet, Koji Igarashi is pulling a Mighty No 9 and kickstarting his own Castlevania reboot without Konami. I actually had prior knowledge of this kickstarter a few weeks ago but had to keep quiet about it. But I took the opportunity to start a review of Symphony of the Night as the first episode of a new show re-examining landmark video games. I've got a cool name and a format all figured out and hope to have that video out shortly after the Monster Party review. See you soon!...

monster party script is coming together! the plan is to have a working script by the end of the day (production tip: scripts are never finished, they're only ready). production will start first thing on monday (i might pull some overtime this weekend). the hardest part of production has always been the writing. i take medication to curb my adhd and dyslexia but it's still a challenge. i have no problem with the actual writing part, i struggle with organizing it all (which is why my old reviews ...

Honest question: How interested would you all be in a review of Monster Party (NES)? I really really like that game but it's been well-reviewed already. I've got a script about half finished but I'm not sure if I should go on. Thoughts?
