Trying old lenses all over again

I should get back using this humble Nikon 85mm f2 AI-s lens, because it has great character!

The Endless Sinner.

Still very few pictures of Vicky appeared on Patreon, only 4.
Today I will try to address this by posting 3 new photos of her on this same balcony, one here and 2 more elsewhere.
In this particular photo, and on the one I will post later today on my regular social media feed, you can't appreciate the view on Milan's skyline you can get from this balcony, the only photo that shows a good view of the City would be the one on DA Subscriptions, that is unless you get distracted by something...

Schedule in advance.

I usually have 2/3 days scheduled on Patreon, in advance, so as not to leave any empty day without your dose of Apples.
But here I am on Saturday with nothing ready for Sunday, having dedicated so much effort to the Monochrome Saturday photo!

Rear-ended.

My everyday car, the Mazda MX-5, has been in the workshop for over 2 weeks now, because I'm trying new mechanics and they are not very quick in their job...
For this reason, I've been using and enjoying the Caterham Seven instead, but I soon remembered why I stopped using it as an everyday car, and I clocked only 28,000 km in 14 years.
The seven is a strange car, everybody notices it when I'm passing by, but nobody sees it on the road, so on Wednesday a van rear ended me in slow traffic...

Introducing the Weekend.

The appointment with Martina appears to be fixed on Friday, arguably one of the best days during the week, introducing us to the Weekend.
And Martina is our ideal angel, leading us towards Saturday and Sunday.

Some of you may recall a time when the photos of Martina were much more frequent, but as our shootings are not happening any more, I want to make the photos I have last for a very long time.

When I love a model I don't make it a secret.
When I don't like her so much, I keep it quiet, and I try to work on the photos with the same devotion, because even if I'm not fond of them, most of these models are still beautiful women, and their bodies deserve to be admired.

2024 greatest hit?

My first shooting with Dottir was not only the best of the 2, it was epic!
This model has one of the best bodies I've ever seen in my life, and the blond hair + the blue eyes is the combination that populated my dreams from my youth.
I would not have been able to conceive such perfection even with the most evolved AI, because she is real.
I hope I can work again with her in the future but, for the moment, let's enjoy the fruits of our great work together, because you've seen very lit...

Archived!

Notwithstanding the busy end of August with 4 new shootings, I was still working on the older shootings, including the second one I did with Annalisa in Milano, on January 2023.
This shooting was one of those trapped inside my very old MacBookPro from 2013, one of those I was worried having lost when the computer stopped charging.
Fortunately I recovered the Mac by just buying another charger, and I'm still working on the shootings trapped inside it, using an older version of Photoshop....

Mirroring.

I was searching for a photo of Linda to post, and this one got my attention for the play between the real woman and her image in the mirror, and how the balance in requiring our full attention.
The model's eye is in focus, but not her breast, so our attention shifts inside the mirror, to find a frontal nude pretty much completely in focus and with exquisite details, but missing the face, so we shift back to the real subject again...
Also the low angle is helping to make this photo well ...

Similar but not the same...

I always make sequences of photos, because I want the final one, the best, that has to be in focus, and everything else.
But most of the times I end up with not just one good photo, but with many, all similar, and yet all different.
Worse still (just a figure of speech) with Maria, that kept changing expressions whilst I was shooting a single picture, and not like Elfa moving in and out of focus, judging by the first picture I'm selecting from the shooting in the Ex Manicomio di Monbell...

I confirm that in the future I will dedicate Saturday to BW pictures, let me explain better, because you always get also the BW version of every picture: I mean on Saturdays I will post ONLY BW pictures made with the Leica M10 Monochrome.

Fast track.

Rabbit is now saved in Archives, but also on BentBox.

Asylum done, twice.

This is a typical pose you would see in a bathroom, but in this case Elfa was in an abandoned asylum, and specifically near the oven where they used to bake bread.
I think the body of Elfa is really something special, lean but with generous curves.

I was originally planning to shoot also with Barbora in this location, in the end of August, but we decided to shoot in her new home instead.
But at least 2 shootings in this location have been secured during 2025, and more will come in...

Giving up the quarry of Valcava for the cold weather, was a blessing in disguise, as far as I can see, because Consonno is a much more varied location, giving a lot more visual opportunities.
And, albeit we did less pictures during this last shooting (compared with the Asylum and the nudist beach), 911 frames are not exactly "few" at all!

Top Quality.

Here is the Top Quality post I was anticipating some days ago.
When Maria spotted the writing on this wall, she immediately wanted to use it for some photos.
She was full of ideas for new photos, and most of the time I was delighted by them, and you will be also, granted!

But Maria is not the only top quality element here.

Take a break.

Each of us has his own pace, and when a model asks for a break, you have to give it.
Better still when you sense they are reaching a limit in their attention, and ask if they want to take a pause.
Sometimes I need a pause myself, to make up my mind about what to do next, so I propose we both take a break, whilst I prepare a new set.
Frequently, the model want to smoke, but in that case I might transform the the break in a new opportunity to take photos, especially when the model need...

Here is the "Secret Camera"!

One charm of this camera is surely its beauty, so much so that it's keeping up with the beauty of Barbora herself, and they look a perfect match together.
But what is really important is under the skin (I'm talking about the camera now), and I will explain on Monday in more detail.

Recurring meanderings.

With all the exciting news of the past days, and 4 new shootings to assimilate, I was forgetting about our best muse since the beginning of the Bramley Apple project.
But here she is, from Feb. 2020, with 3 photos in this Milan bedroom.
I was much more adventurous with lenses at the time, having used also the Nikon 180mm f2.8 ED AI-s on this shooting indoors!
But lately I am much more focused on leaving always the same lens stuck on the same camera, and focal length are just slightly...

Skinny dipping.

Maria at the nudist beach, getting her hair wet for some moody portraits, in one hand she is holding her glasses.
These glasses were both prescription glasses, as well as sun glasses, ideal for this shooting on the nudist beach, but less practical for the dark rooms inside the mad asylum of the day before...
Maria went in and out of the water several times, and got her hair wet at least 3 times, to clean herself after some shenanigans on trees, or to prepare for specific photos, or just...

"Mysterious camera"

I love this photo so much I made 3 Instax square prints of it, had them signed by Maria, signed them myself, gave one to Maria, kept one for me, and one is to be sold, one day, maybe, a long time from now...
It was shot in the Ex Manicomio di Monbello with the mysterious camera, in the beginning of the shooting.

I don't know how to tell you about this mysterious camera, but it is time to spill the beans, and I can explain the reasons for it in due time.

Welcome In Italy!

I was skeptical when Barbora told me she was coming to live in Italy during our first encounter, and yet, here we are 3 month later in her new Italian house!
She still has to infuse her personal signature to the place, and renovation works are necessary, but she is here to stay, and give life to a creative hub for the community of models and photographers in Lombardy.

I posted 2 photos yesterday, but it was an error in scheduling, I forgot I still had Annalisa ready to go, never mind...

Last day of shooting, today with Barbora.
But we had to change our location, because she was stuck somewhere else, so her asylum performance is going to be postponed, but I still want to do it!!!
After this last shooting it's back to normal, whatever that means.
From tomorrow I will also start working again, so time for photography is going to be limited, but I will manage to show you something from the last 4 days pretty soon, I promise!
