Full Reveal - Lili St. Cyr

Since I'm enduring some foot pain with the plantar fasciitis diagnosis, I'm not dancing again until I have to shoot an audition video on the weekend. Instead, you get to hear one of the possible selections I have for Naked Girls Reading Dallas - Femme Fatales. It's a cross between ragamuffin Snapper and fancier Snapper.

Enjoy story time.

Behind the Scenes 05.19.19

Days before I shot this, I learned I'll be in Chicago in late August to do Muppet Burlesque at a nude club. Our team has to wear g-strings and pasties, but they're flying us into Chicago to do the show.

I've entered a pin-up contest for the first time ever.

Makeup & hair by LaDonna Stein, photo by Looking Glass Studio.

While I've been published as a pin-up model a handful of times, I've never actually entered a pin-up contest. Until now.

On June 1st, online voting opens with one vote per email address. If I make the top 20, I'll head to Chicago in late June to parade around the Motoblot music and motorcycle event. While my hope would be to win something, my urge to zip u...

Tub Tales 05.19.19

I drop a number of swears in this one because I have some opinions about producers and about shitheads who masquerade as producers. I've also got some opinions about this bath bomb.

My brows are really dark in this video. They're dirty blonde in life and I got them done the day before. They won't look natural (but a little darker) for a couple days. My lips are also cartoonish, but that was from the photo shoot.

Is it time for a change?

I love having long hair. I don't do as many hair tosses as I did in my pole days, but I do some hair play in my burlesque acts. Right now my hair brushes the bottom of my shoulder blades and the top of my nipple.

Dallas is hot in the summer, and the humidity is terrible. I'm thinking about losing maybe five inches of hair so it brushes the top of my shoulders. That will save me a solid 10 minutes of curling time for gigs and shoots. Of course, that means my hair will be shorter. No Yake...

I clean up good.

From backstage at Viva Dallas Burlesque presents Reunion for Murder. This was my first look for the night.

I love being a hyphenate: dancer-writer-costumer-director-actor-host-singer-genius-taco enthusiast. On this particular night, I was the co-writer and director of the show. I also had some talking time on the stage before debuting my giant fans in an act where I couldn't strip (too complicated for the costume and show). After I stripped and died (spoiler), I was hauled offs...

It's a livin' thing.

Shot by Ben Britt at Viva Dallas Burlesque last weekend. It would be on his YouTube feed for the show, but it's been banned in the US. That's probably because I use a sound clip from the film. I'm hoping that a private Vimeo link won't be flagged.

True confession time. My plan last week was to watch the old video to refresh my choreography memory because I haven't done the act in a year. I discovered the video was banned in the US so I had to choreograph it all from scratch... with a bu...

Is this what people mean when they say "I'm feeling myself?"

Photo by Madison Hurley, makeup & hair by Vivienne Vermuth, jumpsuit by Snapper.

Honestly, I don't really understand that saying, so I guess I was feeling myself (or my insane jumpsuit).

I just sent the last bits of Mr. Exotic World 2018's costume to him. Whew! I really need to vacuum the black fur out of all of my carpets now. And, it's time for this paid Cinderella to focus on my own shit.

Next weekend we do the third installment of the murder mystery series at Viva's ...

Ragamuffin time! Allergies are keeping me away from bath bombs for a little while longer-- at least until I get through a couple of gigs. But, I am technically in the tub.

I look like I've been costuming for days. I have.

Night Cap is out!!!

Photo by La Photographie, makeup and hair by Vivienne Vermuth, styling by Mr. Snapper.

I found out about Bachelor Pad Magazine being a thing right after I started really studying the crap out of burlesque in late 2007. I think Java started the magazine in '06. I subscribed right away and wanted to be published in those pages.

I met Java at the pin-up safari at Burlesque Hall of Fame in 2008. I was fun, and he said he wanted me in the magazine. It took a few years to get photos tha...

Playoffs hockey-- kiss kiss!

Photo by Mr. Snapper, makeup and hair by Vivienne Vermuth (except she would've hidden that bobby pin better than I did).

I love hockey. It's athletic and entertaining at the same time. I like shouting and groaning. I enjoy the camaraderie I experience in the arena. I like the uniforms, the expression of fandom, the rituals.

I'm still a Kings fan, but we know that my love of hockey has my butt in season ticket seats for the Stars. I picked...

Full Reveal - If I Can't Have You

My Saturday night gig started about 30 minutes later than I anticipated and went past midnight. I was covered in body makeup, which meant I hit the shower before winding down for bed. I fell asleep close to 2am, up at 8:30am so I could deal with my darling dogs before a 10am slot at the studio. A rental studio has more room for me to mess with my giant fans than my home studio.

In truth, I try to rent that space for as early in the day as I can manage. I used to rent at 9am on Sundays s...

Despite the rage face, I have a lot of fun.

Photo by Naked Lens from Viva Dallas Burlesque's Mardi Gras show.

This is where I destroyed the ref piƱata to acknowledge the pain that New Orleans Saints fans experienced during that non-call for interference earlier this year. (I know a lot more about hockey, but I was asked by the producer to make some nonsense.)

I thought April would be slower in my world. March held one performance, two photo shoots and an article for the next Bachelor Pad Magazine Nightcap (in addi...

Here's a look inside our Crocodile Rock process. This is the act that was accepted for one big festival but we had to decline because of the murder mystery show. It was turned down from another big festival recently.

As you may know, we make a ton of puppets for the performances because we try to send everyone home with a puppet.

Full Reveal - Stepford Wife

This is the first act I ever submitted to BHOF. It usually has higher hair, but I was rolling from one thing to the next and didn't want to mess up my current coif.

This act is 11 years old, but I haven't performed it since I moved to Texas. While I have replaced the underbits from the original costume,  I used the original trim on the replacement bits. I've performed the act in large theaters, on bar stages, and even on the deck of a dive boat. It's been a trusted friend over the ...

Guess who's allergic to melatonin?

Makeup and hair by Vivienne Vermuth. Photo by La Photographie. Bed by Blaze. Styling by Mr. Snapper.

I started taking these fancy chocolates that contain melatonin before bed almost two weeks ago. I'd taken one or two at a time several months ago, but never more than two and never on consecutive nights. I haven't been sleeping very well with all of the hustling, side hustling and burlesque creation, and melatonin is a hormone. (I mean, these are synthetic hormones in smaller doses coate...

A peek into the sequined madness

I bought a bit of this sequined fabric to see if I could use it for underbits for my new number. This is a shot of the underwire bra I'm making. I haven't figured out what I want to do for the drawers yet.

It's very possible that the boa fans will be too heavy for me to pop off the corset easily. I'm considering that possibility. This sequined nonsense may be the only reveal.

I bought more of this fabric and am making a ridiculous jumpsuit for a photo shoot at the end of the month...

Well, balls.

Photo and big hair by Madison Hurley, makeup by Violet D'vine.

We nailed it with the last murder mystery show. We also worked with the producer to earmark dates for three more shows this year. Each one gets a fresh script, and either Mr. Snapper or I host. (We have the decades of entertainment under our belts and know how to handle lines and a drunk crowd.)

On Monday, I got an email from a festival. I had applied months ago for us to make 500 snapper puppets and go do "Crocodile R...

Tub Tales 02.09.18

I was trying to use up a bunch of my bath bombs. I had the remains of a bubble bar plus three "baked bread" mini-bombs I made last summer.

I need to decorate this damn tub. (Of course, I may be moving in late August. I'm still not unpacked here, but the grass really is greener on the other side of the street from my apartment. I would miss the grand staircase.)

My mother-in-law sent me a huge bouquet of mylar balloons a week ago for my birthday. They're attached to the door of my laundry nook right now. I had them kicking around on my shoot day, so I got stupid with them.

Will they ever deflate?

The Joy of Painting... Red Snapper's Ass.

One of the thrills of being a patron is that you sometimes spark ideas. One of you asked for a painting video a few months ago, and Mr. Snapper started growing his beard. I feel like he started this beard at the beginning of December, and we intended to shoot the video in time to release for Christmas. (Of course, we wound up in the emergency room on that shoot day so we missed out on a Christmas and New Year's release.)

The next plan was to shoot in January and pair it with the Fire Be...

Aging is strange. Every year I gain more experience points but I experience a little more wear and tear. Smile lines get a little deeper, recovery after a big show takes a little longer, more body parts crackle when I stretch.

However, I recognize that I've ...

Tub Tales 01.26.19

I was in Hot Springs over the weekend, so I decided to do my Tub Tales from Miss Fancy, Madison Hurley Fuentez's Victorian house turned studio.

We took a charter flight to and from Hot Springs and our luggage was limited by the airlines. I had the balls shipped directly to Madison's house and had to figure out how to get them home.

Mr. Snapper and I were in the Walmart parking lot closes to the airport, pouring the balls into a laundry bag while planning to pay $35 to check my bal...

Packing time!

We're taking a charter flight from a boutique airline tomorrow for our show in Hot Springs. We have to take this suitcase and one large suitcase because there are two of us and we collectively do three acts.

This is my award-winning act. Pasties are in an index card box. The top of the suitcase holds merchandise this round, but I often stuff my clothing and makeup in that side when I'm doing a quick turnaround with this act. I can jam a few more things in the costume side if needed.
