This act is going to take a bit to get itself fully in order. Lots of building, problem solving and embellishing.
But, in the meantime, it's not safe for work.

I got a new bed on New Year's Day, which means I can finally use my dog quilt on an actual bed! I love my bed.
When we relax, we have great ideas. I had a bright idea for my trip to Hot Springs in a couple weeks, if I have time to shoot with Madison. The concept: balls.
We're taking a charter flight to Hot Springs this time because it's not that expensive and will...

A nipple will have to do for the spilling. Shot my Mr. Snapper as he was learning the camera.
Last night we finished the first draft of this burlesque murder mystery for February, Die, Pageant Bitches, Die. Every pageant contestant has a title suitable to the sort of business you'd find in an industrial park or strip mall. We have Miss Montreal Mattresses and Miss Dick's Dry Cleaning. (I'm Miss Ginger's Jerseys, which is hilarious because I'm true ginger and my dad was from Jer...

You guys get the behind the scenes stuff, which means you get to see what makes a Snapper.
I'm having a tough time finding inspiration right now. I usually have an easy time just creating. It could be the heavy writing workload that has re-routed my creativity. (One of my hustles is as a copywriter.)...

As 2018 draws to a close and I prepare to head to a hockey game (of course), I must thank you for your support this year. There have been some interesting things happening in really life, only making the drive to create stronger.
2019 brings the birth of a new act, the hunt for a choreographer who challenges me as Gabrielle did in pole class, and a drive to delight audiences-- both online and in person.
I appreciate you sharing my journey with me. I wish you many good things as we...

I’m early into the costume build for the big, ridiculous fan dance act. I’m working on a tearaway corset that “melts” off my body, using a technique a friend used a decade back. (She retired some years ago.) I’m staying quiet about it everywhere but here, because I don’t want to tip my hand. Also, it might not actually work the way I want.
Anyway, I’ll rhinestone the corset with crystal AB stones— clear stones that reflect light a bit like soap bubbles, giving...

I wanted to share something fun with you for Christmas (besides the link for Nightcap). However, the videos in the last post explain how my content plan went.
Java opted not to use this photo. He has commented to others in the past that my photos have been a bit too racy.
What whiskey is that in the photo? Writer's Tears. It's not very good. We bought it for the comedy alone.
I hope you've had a great holiday. If you don't celebrate Christmas, I hope you at least got t...

So, we had this fun shoot day planned. Put the dogs in day care, Vivienne came over to do my hair and makeup, green screen arrived just in time.
And then, well, I explain it here.
A cupcake later after updates on his first blood test, this happened.
What the fuck even is today?
Someone's on the way home now. Whew!...

I missed out on the deadline for this year's smut contest. I've been way too busy with copywriting for the day job to get a fancier day job, plus a couple commissions and real-life nonsense.
But, here's some fun stuff. I spent last weekend in Savannah. I stripped in the club where Lady Chablis does her shtick in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Mr. Snapper and I spent a nice chunk of time hanging out with our...

The last time I did this act was for a Dallas con in March of this year. Because I'm sharing rehearsal footage with you, I feel like you should see this version. (I'm not always this fancy faced when I rehearse. This was just the capper on a shoot day.)

I'm a Betty Crocker type. I love cooking and baking. As a teen, I had a cake decorating kit and a few skills. (I no longer have all of the tips and bags and such. I have to cobble things together on an as-needed basis now.)

3/4 cups sugar

I was really excited to join the Bad Girls Club a few months ago. It was pitched to me like a bunch of sexy Betty Crockers who raised money for animal, LGBTQIA++ and women's charities. I love baking and making stuff and I dig helping, so it seemed like a natural fit.
I mentioned in a past post how I don't really have the red and black wardrobe that many burlesquers favor. I got my official BGC t-shirt after I got this glorious je...

We shot this on the shoot day, but we did it before my amazing cameraman (ahem) remembered to plug in the microphone. I had to add the music in post, so I'm just a bit off the beat. It seems a little sleepy, which matches my hair and makeup.
I named this act California Sunset because it's a tribute to the beautiful sunsets and beaches. I hate that so much of the land I love is affected by fire, but I know the sunsets are going to be gorgeous when the air clears. I hope all of my California fri...

When I was in Tucson last month, I had an incredible opportunity. My hotel shower had a glass door. Mr. Snapper grabbed my iPhone and bumped it to slow motion.

Shot on iPhone with terrible lighting in a hotel room in Chicago.
On this particular trip in September, I needed to kill some time on the airplane. That's when I started writing the pitch for the next murder mystery burlesque show at Viva's in Dallas.
I think it should be called "Bitches Killing Bitches" or "Die, Pageant Bitches." The loose premise we had with the producer was to do a pageant send-up, blending Showgirls with Miss Congeniality.
I had a whole run of...

My left knee has given me some trouble over the past few years. It limits my floor work and forces me to modify activity when the pain flares up.
I visited the doc this morning for an x-ray. No tears or fractures. I just have less space in the joint of one knee than the other. They told me to take glucosamine and get physical therapy. Yay!
I’m really happy there’s nothing major wrong with it. Fingers crossed the prescribed treatment does the trick.

I had a dream as a kid-- being covered in Dalmatian puppies. This will do.
I used to have hundreds of Dalmatian collectibles. Many have been offloaded. These are the remainders. If I had a younger relative who was totally into spotted dogs, I might have handed them over instead of getting naked and covering myself in stuffed puppies.
Here's the real thing of note. When I get really excited about something, I go wild-eyed. One eye gets larger than the other. (My wild eyes pop up in lots o...

Yeah. I don't quite know what's happening.
I'm working on this act that's going to take some time. This is the tribute fan dance (the boa fans in mini-marshmallow colors) with the corset that should "melt" off my body.
For some reason, the songs that are inspiring me are not slow, languid songs. I'm jamming on the pop music. It gives me a chance to give lots of "infectious smile," as my friend Bo calls it.
Honestly, this act is going to be in colors of valentine hearts. Why am I ev...
