On this Memorial Day, I think it’s important to learn the history of the day of remembrance. The first nationwide day of commemoration was in 1868, but there are records of emancipated black Americans celebrating Memorial Day as early as a month after the end of the Civil War in 1865. This is a photo of the Washington Race Course and Jockey Club in South Carolina. This is where the first Memorial Day took place. The race course, once a high-end club for southern elites, was turned into hol...

I’m trying to take every day moment at a time. I’m trying to make my home everything I’ve ever wanted my home to be which, as it turns out, is a place where I can grow vegetables and have chickens. Say hello to some of the new women in my life! We’re trying to come up with names now so far we’ve got:
Layla
John Eggmos
Mother Clucker
Yolko Ono
Betty EggWhite

I’m out here in Puerto Rico still recovering from the gnarly Covid, day eight. I actually started my period as well so I’m kind of feeling horrible on top of horrible currently. Laying in bed thinking about a couple days ago when I was actually feeling fairly decent and decided to go jump in to the ocean with Jeremy. We have a beautiful tiny little beach that we love to go to, sometimes I’ll post photos and videos from there. I love this little spot because when it’s calm out, I can s...

Knowing what to say at a time like this is difficult. My immediate mental state is despair and outrage. But then, I’ve been outraged since 1999. My son was not quite three. I remember watching the news, seeing the children and families in terror and chaos, and my heart breaking. I wasn’t much older than some of those kids and this horrible tragedy happened in a place I loved to people who were just a step behind me, getting ready to start their lives. And to look at my own child, knowing ...

I’ve been holding back on teaching burlesque on this forum for a few reasons. Reason number one is insecurity, feeling like it would be perceived as cringy, fear that my gifts will not be enough to be perceived as relevant to the cyber world. Fear that since I’m not picking the general population won’t give a fuck. Fear that I’m not teaching lessons the way “others” think I should.
I have to be honest, sometimes I need to take a break from the world of Vintage and History b...

I’m feeling a little better day by day. Hoping I can get some stamina back up so I can work on rhinestoning my costume for my upcoming show in Buffalo, NY in a few months. Trying to not overdo it since I’m still recovering, but gotta start trying to rebuild my strength.

So here’s a little bit about this costume and this routine. I started this project before Covid. Far before Covid… It has taken me at least three years to put this routine and costume on stage. I did perform in this costume here in Puerto Rico at Nova Ley, in Mayaguez and it killed! Everybody loved it and that’s where I got my sea legs with this costume. So why did it take me so long to perform in it? I keep asking myself that question. I think I was quite burnt out on Burlesque before ...

I just posted the rest of the plum colored boa photo set up on SVT and called it "Pretty In Plum" and now I can't get this song out of my head! Andie definitely should have not ended up with Blane, but hey. We've all kissed some privileged frogs in our day, right?

Back home, finally settling in, and starting to feel under the weather of course. I’m crossing my fingers and toes its just allergies to the Sahara dust + exhaustion from travel. I’m trying to be here mentally, but I feel far from it. I’ll be putting some more of these photos up over the weekend. Maybe if I will myself to feel fierce it’ll actually happen??? I’ll put out a couple photos for my sensual spark, lava lust, and white hot tiers. As always, volcano tier gets more and the s...

These two buildings, the brick one behind me and the grey one across the street, hold very special places in my heart. The brick building is not the same building I once lived in but now stands in its place. I actually lived in the grey building across the street first and my sister and her kids lived in this one.
303 S 2nd Street in LeClaire was once the home of my parent's photography studio, my home and gallery that was first called Giga Gallery (which is what my daughter used...

Meet Francie, another kind of road dog. She is our touchstone on the road. She is an incredible calming force for everyone in the crew. Dogs can be an incredible source of peace for folks who struggle with anxiety and other issues. But remember, they can easily take on too much, just like humans. Treat them with all the love they deserve. Thank you Francie for always being there for us.💗 my beautiful cuff of silver and beach glass made by @ensenatjewelry photo by @mikewolfeamericanpicker <...

But for right now, I get to fly home! I love having a place to return to that I actually feel wanted, needed, loved, understood, refreshed. While today will be a long travel day with a five hour flight and then a 3 Hour Dr. from San Juan to my home on the other side of the island, I will stay busy writing a RAW dog diaries wrap up. Hopefully I can have it ready for you tomorrow. I took a lot of great video and I’m wanting to compile it all for you here on Patreon. For now I have to catch a ...

Well, I’m supposed to be waking up in Puerto Rico right now but I’m waking up in Detroit again.
As much as I love Detroit, I’m so excited to get home.
My flight was canceled last night so let’s really hope that I can get back home today. For now I’m just gonna set this picture here. I was looking through some of the edits from the house of blues show that I will gladly post for you on this page as soon as I get back to my computer on the island. But for now, we’re all...

🎶 Oh Bambi it's my design
To run the jungle I must be a lion
Or be a cheetah but neither is fine
Don't wanna hurt my dear love of my life 🎶
To go along with the song I just posted, I thought this jungle cat set would be a purrr-fect companion.

Here’s a few shots from yesterday’s adventures in Michigan. Sad but true, Yesterday was our last pick of this block.
2 weeks of long days and very short nights are finally coming to an end for this block of American Pickers. Today is my last day of pickups or interviews. We will drive to a quiet spot outside of Detroit to film today. It’s a sweet little farm with lamas, donkeys, sheep and lots of different birds. There’s a cute little Siamese cat too!
I always leave with a...

Yesterday certainly was an interesting one. Yesterday I was struggling with a problematic American past. Pickin is always an interesting journey. So many different personalities, so many different pics, so many different things to pick from in somebody’s home. At times I go into peoples homes or pole barns and I am thrilled delighted and sometimes enlightened by what I see. Sometimes it can be a very encouraging and exciting moment for me, Mike and the rest of the crew. I always love it whe...

Bettie the beach babe! This photo was not intentionally supposed to look like hers, but the similarity is definitely there.
I have loved Bettie for so very long. She was such a smart, talented, fearless woman. With everything being so busy lately, I completely missed her birthday a couple of weeks ago (April 22nd). Also, I just forget birthdays easily. You know, the whole no-birthdays-childhood thing really didn't really set me up for success in the birthday remembering department...
