My momma at 9

I thought I would share this with everybody. My mom (Sue Colby) sent this to me yesterday. It’s a photo of her at nine years old. She was so beautiful, she always has been. Even as she’s aging she just radiates beauty and light.

I love it when she sends me old photos. Does your mom ever do that? Does she ever just send you old photos out of nowhere?

Burton (trigger warning, cat amputation in the second photo)

Good afternoon everybody, part of the reason I’ve been silent lately is because I have been caring for my cat Burton and helping her through an amputation. Just over a month ago she dislocated her leg and the vet out here recommended we amputate. It was an incredibly hard decision to come to but her quality of life depended on her having the leg removed. It was a really bad dislocation and it likely would not have healed correctly and would have been very painful for her had we not done it....

I’ve been gone a little while, taking space for myself to rest and save my energy just for me. I needed respite from the negativity of the internet and social media. I’ve always been cat crazy

This is me and my baby sister Annie back in the day. She sent me this pic the other day and it took me wayyyyyy back. This is my cat Kiki in my arms. She Had a litter of kittens and I wanted to keep them all. But that’s a lot of cats, so we didn’t. I wish she was still with me.💗 I remember watching how gentle Annie was with them even though she was a baby. Did you ever have a special pet as a little one? What did you love about them?
