So when I was out on the road I lost my beautiful Union Western mask. So when I returned home, I got a hold of them right away and asked them to make me a new one.
I love this one even more than the first one, the chain stitching is insane! It comes alive so much!
I’ve been talking with them about creating a burlesque/drag costume for me and again I have so many ideas running through my head I have to really just pinpoint and focus all my energy on one idea but I’m so inspir...

Many moons ago, in Chicago, I met Jeez Louise, a Chicago cabaret legend and the number one burlesque figure in the world.
Literally Jeez Louise won that title!....
Do you have any idea how much talent, drive and ambition that takes?
More than I got, I’ll tell you that.
I’ve looked up to Jeez as a fellow performer since the first time seeing her perform.
Over the years I have come to know and understand Jeez beyond being just another talented artist.

Today I’m summoning all my magic.
The world needs it as we mourn not only the loss of an incredible woman, RBG, but also the crumbling of our justice system.
Pull together your magic today.
Organize your craft.
Cast your spells.
Walk with intention.
If you haven’t found your magic yet, now is the time to start looking.
It’s there, right there, inside you.
Turn on, tune in, drop out.
What does that mean?
“To...

I purchased this and several other sets from her and I had the opportunity to exchange mail and phone calls with her over the years but she has since moved and I have sadly lost track of her. But no worries, I’m still searching for her and have much more of her story to tell. Stay tuned for more on Nazife 💗

I don’t know if it’s the seriousness of everything happening in the world or if I’m just getting older and my perspectives and priorities are changing but it’s been difficult to get in the mindset of photographing myself.
I went to the doctor yesterday (routine well check for work) and weighed myself for the first time since last year when I went in for my annual check up. 201 pounds. Last year I was 185. For the first time ever in my life history I did not feel ashamed or emba...

This is one of the sweetest lots of burlesque costumes I’ve ever purchased.
Check out the details on these two 1950’s headdresses on our beautiful model Honey Cocoa. Both front and back of these headdresses are impeccable. This is important for an artist because the back view matters as much as the front.
Here is a little peek of the interview I had with the seller years back.
“This is a real working showgirls costume.
It is very old and would be mo...

Since I’ve been home in PR I have been researching this set of costumes I purchased years ago.
I was at a total loss. I had reached out to every stripper and striptease historian that I thought might have an answer. Nothing... for years nothing. Until now!
I’m so happy to tell you that I finally know who this g-string belonged to!
Yes her name was Lorraine but there is soooooo much more, her story will blow your mind!
Get ready to hear the stripper s...

This is one of Lynn O’Neill’s original posters (from my personal collection) that would have been set up before and after her live stage performance.
O’Neill’s mother would’ve displayed it on an easel at her “original garter girl” stand and probably would’ve been the one handling this poster the most. Lynne would most likely pose with patrons after her show and sign autographs for everyone giving out a garter to each at about a buck or two per fan. That’s my best gues...

In my searching I have come across quite a bit of Lynn O’Neill memorabilia. She was such a popular model and performer and very active on the circuit so there are more remnants of her memory than of many other performers.
Here are just a few of the pieces I have picked up along my way. You can read what looks to be a handwritten letter from her that she would send out with her garters and photographs but it was in fact a copy. It sure did look real though, on account of the red ink! ...

I love it when I can find documentation of anything. I get giddy! I was searching through my Frederick’s of Hollywood catalog collection and saw a 1982 catalog and found this ad for the same jumpsuit that Lynn O’Neill is wearing in this photo set.
This is pretty cool on two levels. I know that this design was made before 1982, even before 1968, and it tells me that this design was so popular that they kept it running for all those years! It had to have been sold in the 1966-72 Frede...

Elaine Jose Nolan was brought into this world on March 8, 1918. She started her life in Baltimore Maryland but just twelve years later her parents would make the move to Evanston Illinois. She would go on to graduate high school in 1935 right there outside of Chicago.
World War Two was all anyone could think about. It started as a trickle with Japan waging war on China in 1931. It felt so far from the safe shores of America but in time the trickle would be come a torrent. The entire w...
