December Morning 🎄

Our Christmas tree is finally up! It took a bit longer to arrive this year because of all the stormy weather, but it’s always worth the wait. This morning, I woke up to the most breathtaking sight—an aurora dancing over our cabin. I haven’t seen much of the northern lights so far, due to all the snowy, overcast days, so this felt extra special. It’s amazing how the sky can suddenly light up like that and remind you how magical this season really is.

Christoffer has finally made it to our off-grid cabin, so it’s just Grim and me having a quiet, cozy weekend together. We’re fully embracing the slow pace—relaxing and spending plenty of time in front of the open fire. I’m also getting lost in Mistborn: The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson, and I can’t put it down! I’m almost done, and honestly, it’s been such a fantastic read. Perfect for a weekend like this ⭐️

Countdown 🌅

Today, the afternoon light was absolutely breathtaking. It’s hard to believe that by the end of this week, we’ll be witnessing our final sunset here on Svalbard. The thought feels surreal, knowing that soon the sun will disappear below the horizon for months, leaving us in the soft glow of the polar night.

Even though it happens every year, it always manages to take me by surprise. One day, it’s as if we just wake up and the daylight is gone—haha! But not in a bad way at all. I welcome the polar night and look forward to the unique beauty it brings. For now, I’m soaking up these last golden days, enjoying every moment of the sun’s rays before they disappear for the season 🩵

After two years of writing and pouring my heart into this project, it feels incredible (and a bit surreal) to finally share it with you. Eight years ago, when I first moved to Svalbard, I never imagined I’d find a true sense of home in such a remote corner of the Arctic. Hello September ✨ Wallpaper

After four long months, the sun has finally set again on Svalbard, and I can't even begin to describe how magical it was to witness. Watching the sunset for the first time in months felt like greeting an old friend, bringing back the most stunning and colourful skies. Grim and I spent a long time outside, captivated by the beauty unfolding above us. We watched as the sky transformed into a vibrant masterpiece of pinks, oranges, and purples, each moment more breathtaking than the last.

There’s something truly special about the light here, a reminder of the unique cycles of darkness and light that make Svalbard so extraordinary. As I watched the sun dip below the horizon, I felt a little bit of relief. Polar day is a long and tiring season—beautiful, absolutely, but difficult. This sunset represents the return of the cozy season I love so much and the countdown to the magical polar night.

I’m so excited to share this moment with all of you, and it felt only fitting that it would be this month’s wallpaper. The photo of Grim looking at the camera is one of my favorite photos I have ever taken of him!

We are back home on Svalbard and were greeted this morning by a huuuge pod of beluga whales! 😍 So of course I had to bring you guys and my coffee outside to enjoy the moment 🩵 I also show you some of the things we purchased on the mainland as well as all my new books! (Sorry about me touching my hair 200 times at the end of the video, it felt SO short after I cut it 😂)

AUGUST x Wallpaper ✨

Happy August, everyone!

How has your summer been so far? ☀️ We are still enjoying the Scandinavian summer on the mainland, but soon we’ll be making our way back to the arctic island we call home.

I’m really looking forward to it because August is such a beautiful month on Svalbard. The tundra starts to take on its orange hue, and the fjord will be teeming with whales, either feeding or just bathing in the shallow waters outside our cabin.

It seems the weather has calmed down slightly, which means we can once again head out on the fjords to explore! So far, this Svalbard summer has been a windy one, keeping us on solid land. We’ve barely been able to take our boat out due to the high wind speeds and rocky seas. :/ I’m hoping the last two months bring us plenty of fjord adventures.

For this month's wallpaper, I’ve chosen some fjord-themed ones. One of my favorite photos is the one with the lonely beluga whale against the dark blue sea. Don’t worry, though—it was part of a bigger pod, so it wasn’t that lonely :)

Grim had surgery! 🐕

Hiiii everyone! 🩵

I just wanted to jump in here and give you a Grim update! Our little boy had surgery recently to remove a growth from just below his lil butthole. I found it last year after just looking him over (highly recommend doing that every now and then if you have an animal) and we initially did tests to determine if it was malignant or not. The test showed it to be benign which was great and we decided to leave it as it was so small. But the last few months it has grown SO much that we decided to be pro-active and have it removed 🙏🏻 Everything went smoothly and the growth has been sent for pathology to make sure it is benign. So Christoffer and I have spent the last few days on butthole wipe duty 😂 Grim must be wondering what the heck is going on haha! You don’t have to worry though as Grim is OK and recovering nicely 🫶🏻

Morning coffee in Sweden!

For the first time in a veeeery long time I am reporting to you from where I grew up in Sweden! On the West Coast a few miles from Gothenburg! 🇸🇪

I flew here Monday this week, because my older sister just gave birth to her second child ☀️ This part of Sweden is absolutely beautiful so I will film a patreon video for you tomorrow to show you what it looks like 😃😊 I won the weather lottery as well! A week full of sunshine here in Sweden, while Svalbard has a week full of rain 🌧️
