Hey there!
Last week i posted new set with Vanessa and also a long bts video of that shoot.
Here you have the light setup explanation.

It is a 3 light setup:
Main light is a 1200D Aputure with 160cm SMDV softbox on it (my main light very very often).
In the back I have 2 Nova 300 Aputure RGB Panels with red/orange color tone. Nova panel on the left is directed at the background to create a warm gradient effect and the panel on the right is directed at the models back/side.<...

Hey friends,

here in the second bts video for the set I posted last week I explain what lights I used.
Clients wish was to have it all very colourful with purple/pink and blue hues. I wanted to mix those colours to have gradients from one color to another in the picture, but still have some clean white light on the model, to have her more or less with natural skin tones and to show the clothes too.

For the "ambient" light I used 2 Aputure 300c Nova panels with blue and purple ...

Shoot with Sunset lamps

Hey friends!
As you see in the last video I used 3 sunset lamps for one set on a client shoot. When they came out and I saw those on instagram and amazon I thought ok you can do smth creative with those, looks like fun and pretty nonexpensive too, so I got myself 3 lamps about 1 year ago.

So what do you need to know about a shoot with sunset lamps ?
1. they are not powerful, so you probably shoot at at least 800iso, probably 1600 iso, depending on the lamps and your setting.

new experimental presets - Gen

I tried out new stuff in Capture One few days ago while trying to find the right color look for a new series and accidentally came up with this kind of color style. It is a little bit special, does not work for every picture/scenario, but in generall pretty interesting and I really like it :) I think it has nice editorial vintage (maybe 90s?) vibe to it. There are 2 cold and 2 warm versions of this preset... I used Gen 2 for the pics above. I had to desaturate blues on this one so the shadows...

I tried out a new color in C1 on this one and really like the skin tones and deeper desaturated blacks. Do you want me to upload this as a preset ?

This is the light setup of the previous photo post. Few years ago i discovered oldschool fresnel tungsten lights for myself and used them a loooooot for my shoots :)
They are cheap (2kW used "noname" lamps around 150 euros), powerfull, the light is beautiful and versatile. Downside they are hot and energy consumption is high. Hey friends. Here is a bts video of me using one of my favorite light solutions for simple but effective light on the model. I use Zhiyun light with 40watt power - a portable baterry light.
In this video I use new Zhiyun Molus 40watt light.
