We're doing this by migrating everything from Google Datastore to Google Cloud SQL and Google Cloud Storage. This will introduce significant improvements in terms of responsiveness of the browsing. While we're at it, we decided to redesign the cloud browser interface as well, to make the improvements even more apparent.

So this some of you have already seen on the stream, but now were making a post too. :)
It turned out that simply updating the skinning wasn't enough to achieve the amount of quality we wanted around the spine/belly area for extreme angles. So now we're adding a driver to it as well. No need to be dramatic about it, so let's get straight to it.

0.6.0 was one of our biggest releases yet. It contained a lot of new features and content, but also changes to previous behavior. Several core systems were removed and replaced with new ones. Naturally, doing such a thing increases the risk for bugs. And sure enough, there's been several reported.
We're happy to announce we're just a day or two away from releasing a patch to many of these bugs. This release will however not only contain bug fixes, but also some improvements in general.

We're in the final stages. We have a build and are running tests. Mostly just administrative tasks left (building all targets, compiling setups and zips, uploading, publishing, generate keys, promotional stuff etc).

So Unity just released version 5.4 of their game engine (that we're using). Since this release brings a whole range of improvements, we decided to upgrade our project to it right away. Just wondering if people still have issues with connecting to the cloud?
When we first launched the app about a year ago, several users were unable to connect. This usually had to do with a firewall blocking or a due to an issue with Unity and proxies. But we haven't heard anything about this for a while.

This is something we discovered a while ago, but with some minor tweaks to our fur shader, we can turn it into something that resembles feathers. While we don't have a character yet that feels suitable for this, perhaps we could use it for a future one. Perhaps an optional skin for a bird or raptor. :)
