Playing with the NLA Editor and Update

Oh how time flies. So I've been spending time over the past year diving into the animation aspect of Blender, (in my spare time) and I feel like I've grown quite a bit from when I made that first post.  Prior to that it was primarily focusing on navigating the UI and a crash course into model manipulation and creation (simple, sfw models so far, nothing super fancy and I plan to sprinkle them in each works as sort of "easter eggs" if you will).

Anyhow I think I'm getting very close to having something to start seeding out there into the world. Content to attract attention and turn this monologue into a budding community. I've been tuning lighting, potential camera angles and finding a section to display to generate some interest. Wrapping my head around all these concepts I never even imagined myself doing years ago.  Recently was talking with another, more experience creator and he showed me a teaser trailer for a work he's doing and it's a fantastic idea! That seed has been planted and I'm thinking of ways to apply that to this.

Recently stumbled across some tutorials on NewGrounds by Rikolo3d
( https://rikolo.newgrounds.com )  and it's been eye opening. I've been primarily just going through and creating stuff free flow through the time line, manually scrubbing the timeline to try and see how it looks but after doing test renders the timing wasn't how I envisioned but after just playing with the NLA editor for a bit I can tell already this is how I create the impactful movement I've been striving to figure out how to create!

My eyes legit welled up a bit and I was overcome by a sense of happiness when I saw the hints of the movement going how I was wanting to see for quite a while, in the right FPS (lol).

I'd like to add this first project isn't going to be the norm as far as time to complete or anything like that. A huge part of this taking so long is due to the learning aspect. Learning new concepts and developing work flow, not gonna lie, this entire field is nothing I would have imagined myself ever getting into had you asked me years ago and I've essentially "jumped into the deep end" with wanting to create this the way I do. Now I don't want to ever set arbitrary deadlines for myself but it's my goal in the future to put out a larger work once a month to 3 months with teasers and loops weekly along the way, and sometimes separate from the primary content.  Hell for all I know at this very moment maybe that'll change along the way where I'm just focusing on high quality shorts in the settings I've been taking inspiration from as I come across them, time will tell :) (i really want to do both!)
