The Plan Going Forward...

I've put quite a bit of thought into this, so I hope you'll bare with me. This is in conjunction with the post I made earlier this year: https://www.patreon.com/posts/thoughts-and-63975838.

As I've previously stated, I was going to attempt to gradually get more accustomed to Unity and 3D modeling, and so that's what I've been doing. As some of you might be aware, I've started a small commission mainly for the sake of practice and of course making a little extra, due to me being human and all...I've not been too up front with stuff I'm planning for Unity here because frankly, I've been trying to wait for the flash stuff to be out of the way, before I started anything I might commit to as far as Unity is concerned. Well, as I engage in the mandatory tedium of getting back into Unity and Blender, I find myself pretty much enjoying it more and more...

On the flip side, every time I go back to doing work in flash, I find myself face palming more than I'm accustomed to. This summer, working the small commission that I've been doing has made me realize just how burnt out I am on flash...I've been making flash games for over a decade. Working in Unity and getting what I would call decent results (at least better than the last time I tried it) has been a breathe of fresh air, and I sincerely feel like I need to get to that point sooner rather than later. With the current scope of what is being worked on currently however, I feel like getting there is going to take a little bit longer than my sanity is willing to permit ^^'. So with that, there are going to be some changes with the mini games, as well as Demon Tale, the current featured game. I'm sorry if this bothers some of you, but I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't feel it was necessary.

Beat City Girls:

The game's development will stop after the fight with the boss that was introduced is implemented.

Vagrant Blade:

The remaining 3 characters that I was planning to add to the game will no longer be added. "Red thug" animations will cease after Cattleya, and I will finally begin implementing the bosses and sturdier game play mechanics.

Supergal:

Not much will change with this game, as it was already getting to the end of development.

Demon Tale:

I recently stated that I would end up making this game much shorter than I had planned, because I didn't want to start another long and involved flash project. Having pondered on that a bit more, I realized that forcing a smaller game for the sake of getting away from flash is not the thing to do. I still like the characters, I still like the concept. It's flash that's the problem. Not just my frustration with it either. It's also people having problems with the game, where some can't run it at all, while others can run it just fine, optimization problems that stem from using an old architecture, etc.

That being said, I've put out another Demon Tale build that will be the last flash build for Demon Tail. This is now known as Demon Tale prologue. I've added a few things, and fixed problems that were apparent in the alpha, but if there are any glaring problems that I missed, please let me know.

Right now the plan is to re-make Demon Tale as a Unity game, that simply takes place after the prologue. Understand that I'm still getting a grasp on things, so It'll take a bit of time before I have something workable to show. Arguably I would wrap up all the flash stuff beforehand. When we get there however, the featured game conditions will apply to it.

Thanks for reading through this guys, and sorry if you don't think I'm handling this well, but this is what's on my mind.

Thanks for the suggestion prototype. Remember, I mentioned that I have something planned for that gap. I think it'll be interesting, yet light enough to not take too much focus away from other things I want to get done.

I’m pretty sure I may have said this somewhere else but ever feel making artwork (perhaps have a commission) just like on your deviantart account and website to fill in the large gap between updated for your unity games after all of the mini games are completed? Would be nice to see your artworks again. It’s not demand, just a suggestion but that’s up to you. Anywho, if you see this have a wonderful day.

I'm not sure about Emily's case. Theirs might be hardware related. In my case though, I doubt my hardware is the problem. The project that I'm dabbling in doesn't currently lag my system, nor do I believe it is extensive enough to demand that much in any other regards, and yet...Unity will crash randomly for what seems like no reason. Can certain kinds of assets or imports cause this?
