February status update.

January week two, status report.

Most of last week went into programming and setting up the build for the next demo, it will go live this friday (18th of January 2019).

Since this didn't result in any pictures or videos I didn't bother setting up the twitter account yet. I will do that after the new build is out.

The thing I've been working on for most of the week was finalizing my facial rig with the new animation blend shape based animation system. I felt like facial expressions were seriously lacking and fixing this was very important to me.

I'm sorry about the lack of updates over the past weeks. I tried to get the new demo out, but it just didn't feel good enough to me, I know that I'm failing at my own perfectionism and I have to find a better balance.

The day before yesterday I updated unreal engine to the newest version and fixed some issues that were related to that. The main reason why I'm trying to keep developing in the newest version is that "Niagara" is finally becoming usable, "Niagara" is used for VFX and replaces "Cascade" which I didn't want to learn considering it was going to be obsolete soon. Release week, new feature body morph targets.

Payments paused for october.

I didn't get to do any updates during october, so I decided to pause the patreon for another month. On the bright side I will be able to put a lot of time in during the next two weeks, I plan to update the project page (mainly focusing around the magic academy which will be the center of the game in the near future) and will release the new Version (maybe I will make it to a halloween release but most likely it will be during the first week of november).

Payments for September have been paused.

It was and still is my goal to provide this game with regular updates, unfortunately this isn't working out yet. I'm certain that I will have the new version ready in october but I didn't want to force out a quickly hacked together buggy update just to release something.

Luna Plena Magical Academy

Sometimes you have to take a step back and realize that you have to change your plans. With how slow things have been I've decided that the direction of the game has to change.

While working on the farm gameplay I came to the conclusion that it won't be fun just by itself, the reason why managing your farm is fun in a game like stardew valley isn't so much because of the farming but because of all the other stuff you want to do and because you have to squeeze your time around it.

Gameplay demo delayed to september.

All patrons who supported me during august will still get an early download link even if you decide to lower your donation amount.

The thing is, the demo is just not ready yet. There are quite a few things in it like a proper UI, better NPC interactions, farming, brewing, magic and a shop system. Status update

Sorry, I have been sick and the extremely hot weather didn't help either.
I couldn't really get any coding done, because of this the gameplay prototype will be pushed back to mid of August, I want to release it on the weekend between the 17th and 20th of August.

The blender animation file for the goblin girl is almost done and I will upload it later today.

Alchemist base rig

So here it is, this is the core of what I'm currently using to create animations for the game. 

The contents of this file is the bottom layer of my rig the actual models I'm using in the game have an additional layer of deformation, muscle and twist bones on top of what is in this file, but all these additional bones are procedurally driven by this base skeleton, I don't touch any of these additional bones.

Blender "enable new depsgraph"

This post is related to my public Alchemist Rig.

This option increases the granularity at which blender solves it's dependcies, this is especially relevant when it comes to Armatures because with this option dependencies can be solved at a bone level making a lot of multi skeleton setups unnecessary (Also it runs faster at least on my PC). Though it is somehow difficult to find an exact explanation on how to do this on the internet.

Drow girl results on breast vote and what's next

The vote ended with a draw between flat and large breasts, for this reason I have decided that she will have by default a flat chest, but I'll add an enlargement ointment to the game with her which will be the first alchemistic potion the player gets to make, this way both options will get their way and I'll takle an issue which I would have to do sooner or later anyway (the whole breast enlargement, shrinkage thing).

Sorry for not updating, huge blog post incoming.

I didn't stop working on this at all, in fact quite the opposite.
While working on some new animations and the drow girl it became more and more obvious to me that by just continuing the way I'm doing it right now I won't be able to produce animations and introduce new characters as fast as I want and especially regarding animations I'm also not reaching the quality I want.

Prototype 1 available to everyone and development update..

There will be at least one more update to the first prototype this friday, the update will include:
- Two animations with futa like content (Magic attachable "plant" penis).
- Pubic hair.

Finally

Sorry for the huge delay. I'm uploading the prototype right now and it will be available for 20 $ patrons shortly, 10 $ and 5$ patrons next monday (11th of june) and on the 18th it will be available for everyone.

It's really small and not very much content wise, but it marks a point where I can easily add new characters, handle animations for multiple characters and test new animations easily in engine.

On future releases

My original plan was to keep advancing the story with regular updates. Obviously that didn't work out, with the amount of time I'm currently able to put into this project I won't be able to do it, so I'm changing the way I develop the game and release new content.

There will be two different kinds of releases from now on, there will be prototype releases and much rarer story releases.

Development update: Goblin girl is getting ready.

First thing: thanks to everyone who voted in the new race poll last month, the winner was the drow. So expect some posts about a very tsundere waifu soon.

Development for the goblin is going well but I didn't get her done quite as quickly as I hoped, I will make some adjustments to my schedule to work faster and more efficiently.

The next version should be ready by the end of next week.

Goblin outfit preview.

The base for the goblin girls outfit is now finished and each piece will be removable separately, sex scenes will be possible with and without clothes, but I'm not certain whether I will have animated transitions for removing the clothes in the game initially.

I expect to release the new version including the goblin within the next two weeks.
