Here you go Patrons!
Another episode is up for your viewing pleasure and YES, this one has a fun Vimeo version as well!!
We cross the Gulf Stream in the middle of the night while we head for the Bahamas! There's some great stuff in this one like underwater anchoring, drone footage while sailing and more! We really love this episode and we hope you do as well!
Thank you so much for coming along with us!

We started the passage between the BVI and St Skitts by heading northeast from Virgin Gorda. We were trying to get an angle to sail both ways, first northeast and then tacking to the southeast. Unfortunately the current was against us and the winds weren’t great so we ended up dropping the sails, turning to starboard and motoring due east until we got to our southeast'ing point.
We motored until Sunset then tacked again to head southeast. We wanted a 60deg port tack and got it. ...

We checked out of the BVI’s today and are currently staged for our crossing to Saba Island. We have a weather window but it may be a bit bumpy, we won’t really know until we get out there tomorrow.
The winds started to reduce today so we’re hoping that helps calm the seas for tomorrow’s passage. It’s a 90 mile crossing however, we may sail northeast at a 40 degree heading so we can sail. Then we’ll tack south and sail southeast to the island. That means that we’ll add a l...

It might have been a bad idea to go straight to the Willy T, a barge that’s been transformed into a floating bar, on the first night of the new crews arrival. Especially since we had a 4 hour beat upwind the following day to Virgin Gorda.
…But it made for some awesome memories!
The night before the upwind passage, we were having a great time on the Willy T to include taking a few Fireball shots! However, the following morning wasn’t so pleasant as the ‘not so saltyâ€...

Normally it'd be very simple to have your friends fly in for a visit. Even if they were to stay in your home! It's not so easy when your home is a cruising boat...In another country. Trust me when I say that it takes a TON of planning to have friends come for a visit when you're cruising from place to place. It's totally worth all the fuss though!
I began planning this trip with my two best friends, Nicole (left) and Nikki (right) long before we even took ownership of Calypso. We ...

We are STILL in the BVI’s and loving every minute of it! Our older son, Trevor came in last week to spend his spring break with us, we’ve been busy sailing from place to place, fishing, doing water sports and having tons of fun!
What’s great about the BVI’s is that you can sail in one direction and find total seclusion, enjoy a night with a beach fire. Then sail in a different direction and find a sweet little town with bars, shops and great food. There’s also great fishing he...

We've met some great people along the way and have been able to spend a lot of time cruising beside them ever since leaving the Dominican Republic. The difficulty of navigating the Mona Passage together brought us closer and we have been having a blast ever since! Yesterday the girls from the 3 other boats and I decided to have a happy hour drink together and enjoy some girl time. So here's a little pic from Pirates Bight on Norman Island that I thought you'd enjoy! These other sailing ladies...

We’ve received a fair amount of questions concerning our video making process. It all begins from the moment we pick up the camera to film something interesting. We have four different cameras to choose from, depending on the situation we’ll grab the best suited one.
Angles, audio, sunlight direction and amount, movement, placement…There’s a ton to think about when trying to get a decent shot. Now that we’ve captured the moment, we take the memory cards and downloa...

A Patron of ours recently suggested we try two different restaurants during our time in St. Thomas. One was a pizza place called Pie Whole Pizza and the other a seafood restaurant known as Hook Line and Sinker. They were both located in Frenchtown on St Thomas. The pizza place was one of the best spots we’ve ever eaten pizza at before. While we were eating the waitress spent a little time telling us how everything was made from scratch which is pretty amazing! Hook Line and Sinker was in a ...

That's right, it's time for some swag! We sent a couple items in November but it took 6-8 weeks to reach the destination from the Bahamas which was a bummer. Now we're in Puerto Rico so it's on!!
We'll be at the Puerto Del Ray Marina on the East Coast of Puerto Rico starting tomorrow, we'll be there for a few days. We plan to rent a car, do a major provision and mail your swag out! Please keep your eyes open for it to arrive in your mailbox!

We arrived in the Dominican Republic 3 weeks ago with the plan to leave the following day and head to Puerto Rico. That plan quickly changed when we realized how strong the trade winds really were. We were pinned down, in a great location, but still pinned down.
We realized a lot more planning needed to go into this passage so we began to research. Luckily, we had the book, Passages South, by Bruce Van Sant onboard. This book is very popular for helping boaters make the t...

Ok, maybe it wasn't "grand theft auto" but it was certainly theft!! Let's start at the beginning!
The Turks and Caicos treated us very well during our stay. We found lots of gorgeous beaches, beautiful restaurants and even another fish fry (a kind of music filled street party with food to purchase) to enjoy! The island was expensive and the tourist population was huge. The remote island feel was gone and we found ourselves surrounded by fancy buildings, lovely resorts and plenty of plac...

We've now sailed from the lower Bahamas to the Turks and Caicos! The passage from Crooked Island, Bahamas to the Turks took about 29 hours, we had pretty calm seas and about 8 knots of wind. It wasn't great for sailing but we raised our sails and motor-sailed through the night. We had a little hiccup with our Screecher but it worked out ok. More on that later...
This post covers a controversal topic...Weapons...Or firearms as they're called around these parts. Some people wouldn't ever ...

Today started off with a nice downwind sail from George Town to the Emerald Bay Marina in order to get some fuel and provision before heading towards the Turks. The winds were around 25 knots on the stern which gave us following winds and seas, it was beautiful! The sail took about an hour. We were almost to the inlet for the marina, thats where things got interesting!
We were pulling the Genoa in which means I'm (Brittany) pulling on the furling sheet, causing the sail to wrap up while...

Ok here we go! Our generator issue is RESOLVED!
One day after waking up, while on a mooring ball in HopeTown, I pressed the generator start button...and MIGHT have allowed my little finger to slip off the button during the starting process. The generator started for a second and then spooled back down. Then after allowing it to rest for 5 minutes I tried again and got the same result...No generator.
Jeremiah checked all over the unit during our trip further south...It looked fine!...
