June 2022 Update [Download]

Guys I'm really sorry to have kept you waiting this long! we're having some internet issues, I kept thinking they'd get resolved and was sure we'd have internet any day ths week, but seems like it'll still take a bit. Still I shouldn't have waited so long, I'm really sorry!!

We think next week we might have internet again, but no matter what I'll have July's update ready by the 7th at most!

April 2022 Compilation [Download]

April was another month with not that many drawings, I ended up spending most of my focus on the animation course and the 3D model [It's a bit embarrassing to admit how such simple looking bouncing ball animations took me so long;; but oh well.. gotta start somewhere!]

This month there's a lot of doodles and a few animation/3D notes. I was really happy about the Lapis Lazuli sketch that's a little sequence with the water tentacle... thingy haha.

April 2022 Update.

Hello! Finally here with the update post! I hope you guys have been doing well, May has started kinda mean to me hitting me with headaches and a stomach bug OTL, but everything's good now! 

On April I advanced with the animation course, and now I know how to make viewport renders too, so I can start sharing what I do animationwise, but also I can start sharing better "screenshots" of my progress on the Tekki 3D model!

March 2022 Compilation [Download]

This month as usual there's a bit of character design exploration, It's mostly outfits and color variations.

February 2022 Compilation [Download]

I mostly played with character designs resulting in these two pink and green girls. I'm not even sure what they are, in my mind they are kind of alien girls? Hello!! I hope you guys are doing well! It's a bit late but finally I'm here with this month's uptade and Tier 2 compilation files!

Sadly I didn't advance much during February. I worked on the Tekki model a lot, doing and redoing the retopology, but I didn't exactly make a lot of progress and I'm still stuck in the same stage. Same with the animation course, I only advanced veery little.

January 2022

Hello everyone! I hope the first month of 2022 has treated you guys well!

So First, regarding the 3D model I'm working on: Tekki.

I'm happy with the sculpt and I've now moved onto the retopology phase! This is what the sculpt looks like, I also did a quick vertex paint mockup to see if everything looked good.
I made the ears straight but tried to keep them very close to what the bent ones looked like.

I expect a lot of the details, especially on the body, to fade or softe...

Alright! I wanted to write about this update way earlier, I'm sorry it's coming so late!

TLDR:

• November and December weren't/won't be billed.
• Tier 3 is disappearing.
• Tier 2 is staying, but will only reward monthly compilations.
• Tier 1 is only a tip jar.
• I'm no longer doing monthly Pieces, focusing instead on 3D and leaving drawings as a hobby.

September/October Monthly pieces! Tier 1

ALRIGHT!! And here's the [for now?] last 2!

For these two drawings I wanted to take a different approach, instead of:
Sketch>lineart>flat colors (with everything on a different layer)>shading>details
I skipped the lineart and separating stuff in many layers. It is a lot more freeing in some aspects, so things look a bit less stiff, but it's also limiting in other ways, like correcting big anatomy mistakes or changing colors is a bit more troublesome. But I'm very happy...

September Update.

Because the August sculpt stretched so far into September, I think I'm going to treat the sketches as part of September and October's Monthly piece.

The idea is: On October 5th you'll get the September monthly art compilation as well as any sketches I finish, and on November 5th you'll get the October monthly art compilation as well as the remaining sketches.

I planned to have most of the sketches be just lines, but with this extra time I want to make all of them colored sketches,...

Tier 3 - August 2021 Monthly Piece Files. [Download]

I wanted to keep older versions of the sculpt in the same file to keep the "process" visible. I hope it will show up properly, because I added those in a weird way. But if it's a bit heavy or you feel it's unnecessary, and you only want to keep the rigged model, just right click the other collections and hit "delete hierarchy".

There's some aspects that aren't very true to the actual process I tend to follow, for example I usually keep every mesh separated, and don't apply modifiers unt...

Finally here it is!!

I still want to learn how to do nice renders [or at least bigger viewport renders!] But that is going to take a long time.. I think to make my models look good I'd have to learn about toon shaders? [also shadows are not as forgiving as using flat colors, which hide A LOT of imperfections]. So screenshots will have to do for now!
