With a Medieval mod scheduled for release today, I also finished some kitchen props for the prop and decor module of the Furniture Expanded.

Again, none of these serve any particular purpose other than adding some soul to your kitchens - the sinks or the microwaves don't boost cooking speed or anything.
If at any point I decide to add these to any other mod, I will update the p...

Hello and welcome everyone.

The development of a medieval faction nears it's end, hence I started work on a little side project for now. Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Props and Decorations will be every the Sims player's wet dream - a lot of decorative object with absolutely no function what-so-ever, to beautify your colonies and allow you to add a new, personal twist to them.

Creating an animal pack for the extreme desert was tricky - I didn’t want to take away from the challenge this biome provides - the animals that reside here are supposed to be tough, scarce and difficult to kill. This mod adds 2 new venomous animals, both heavily requested - rattlesnake, with a very strong venom, and a megascorpion, little armored insect with a venomous sting. The last animal is a camel, based on bactrian camels - a two-humped version of dromedary, which can also be milked,...

No animal mod, or in this instance, mod series, can be complete without Lions. This mod, albeit being smaller to not overpopulate the desolate deserts of the planet, contains some of the most popular and requested - and dangerous - animals that can most often be found in the desert. With this particular mod you can hear hyena’s laughter echo through the night, train your own pack of lions, tackle a desert tortoise and die due to venom injected by the feared gila monster.

Hello everyone and welcome to another development diary. Today we will have a glimpse at what's to come down the road, maybe not this month or the next, but in the foreseeable future.
A next faction we will be expanding on is Insectoids. Now, I cannot disclose too much, but we have a storyteller set in place already. Meet Empress Evil.

Empress Evil will be a truly difficult storyteller -...

Thanks to a little brainstorming session on our mod development discord we have decided to add a new story teller to be the face of the Medieval faction mod - this is shaping up to be more of a mini expansion ;)

Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Security module is a result of hours upon hours of hard work. It has been a long time since we began working on this mod, and with a team of brilliant programmers, I am not honored to present to you a Vanilla Expanded approach to base defenses. Every word and every stat in this mod have been carefully prepared to be as balanced and as “vanilla” as possible.
Introducing new defenses for every era of the game - starting with hastily built neolithic cavalr...

Rimworld already has Megasloth, which is based on an extinct real life animal called Megatherium. Lore-wise, it has been brought back from extinction.
This gave me an idea of a new mod, Animals Expanded - Extinct animals. Ideally, I'd like them to be rare, precious, something that Alpha Animals tried to do but instead it ended up populating the whole world with them.
I would give players a reason to go and find these animals - whether it's for precious pelts, great combat power or...

Our modding discord has been in turmoil for the last couple of days, where everyone had their chance to throw ideas into a new, up and coming mod we are creating. An extension to the Vanilla Factions Expanded - this time focusing on Insectoid faction.
It will give players an ability to attack their massive nests, slay the queen and escape with the treasure, and gives us the opportunity to introduce some very interesting new mechanics.
In this devblog I would like to present you t...

We are approaching a release date for the medieval faction, which unfortunately needs to wait a couple more days for the beta testing to finish. Plasteel tier subscribers should have already received the mod and are working hard to make sure the first workshop submission works like a charm.
In the meantime, I've prepared a mod description and a preview image, so here it goes:

With a Vanilla Faction Expanded - Medieval wrapping up, we have began brainstorming session for the next faction - the insectoids.
As part of this faction mod we will add several new world events, one of which will be an infested ship crash. They will come in various sizes - 2x2, 4x2 and a whopping 5x4 - each of them serving as a hive nest for more and more powerful insectoids.
Stay tuned for more information and check out these cool graphics:

A giraffe is probably the most recognizable african animal. For some reason, it’s not in the vanilla base game, and your african tribe immersion is forever ruined. Crocodiles can never hunt you around the river bank, hippopotami can’t rip your arms off with a single bite and you can’t hear coyotes around the campfires. Except, now you can.
Vanilla Animals Expanded is a modular mod. It means it will come out in several modules allowing people to subscribe to only the anim...

Hey everyone and welcome to today's very brief devblog.
Whilst the team is hard at work on the security add-on and Medieval faction expanded, I had some time to begin the buildup to the release of the Animal Expanded - Arid Shrubland biome.
Some animals actually have an interesting new mechanic - hippopotami and crocodiles will ONLY spawn on the river tiles. They are fierce and dangerous, apex predators of the shrubland biome, so try to stay away from them.

Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Spacer module adds several new pieces of furniture to allow players to witness better technological progress in regards to comfort and utility furniture. Repair shelves, Biolab sunlamps and reinforced walls will spice your colony up, whilst illuminated dressers and end tables as well as advanced beds will provide your pawns with highest possible comfort silver can buy.

As part of my continuous work I am trying to expand on animals of every single biome.
Now, arctic biomes, I gotta admit, are a bit tricky. Yes, I could overpopulate them, but I don't really see the point. Sea Ice biome, for example, will not recieve any treatment from me - it's the coldest and hardest of biomes, where no animals ever spawn. Populating it with new animals would essentially be taking away from the "Sea Ice biome challenge".
Ice shelf will receive new animals thou...

Vanilla Factions Expanded is coming along nicely and we expect to have a playable prototype very soon.
One of the biggest features introduced by this faction mod is map generation. When attacking a castle that belongs to the kingdom, you can expect to lay siege to an actual castle and not just a bunch of houses with knights protecting them.

The factions will have co...

We have been working tirelessly to create a new, vanilla friendly medieval faction since it's the only era not really expanded on by rimworld. You got tribals, you got outlanders and space pirates, but where's the love for the kings and knights?
This expansion will be quite vast as it will not only add a new faction, but new armors, weapons, events and mechanics that will overall create a very nice new medieval experience.
With still a long way to go, I can so far present you w...

We have been hard at work at creating a new vanilla furniture expanded add-on. This time, we're focusing on security, element that is heavily missing from neolithic, medieval and spacer colonies due to majority of security being available in the industrial era.
With catapults and ballistas for medieval colonies and charge railguns for spacer colonies, we are trying to expand every aspect of the base security, finally allowing your pawns to remain undrafted when a raid occurs.

Me and the team have been hard at work on a mod I don't really want to disclose now. Part of it is adding grapes which can be used to create ageing wine - which becomes more and more valuable the longer it's in the barrel.
These are the graphics I have prepared for the plant.

I have recently been hard at work on several animal modules. It's actually quite relaxing to draw them, and it's easy to lose track of time and just spend a whole day creating new animals.
I have planned out each biome and I will slowly work my way through all of the animals. It's not as simple as it seems - I need to make sure that artwork, balance, sounds and even behaviour are as close to v...

It always baffled me, and probably most of you, that some domestic animals (dogs, I’m looking at you!) are actually categorised into several breeds, each with somewhat unique attributes, and yet cats are all brought together into a “cat”. I wanted some more diversity with these two types of animals, new breeds, new fluffers, new companions, so I did what I’ve been doing for quite a while now - I made a new mod.
Vanilla Animals Expanded is a modular mod. It means it will come...

We can all agree that in vanilla game, the peak of technological progress is a set of power armor. The way to get there? Through Flak pants, jackets and vests. After playing this game for so long, I became tired of using the same armor over and over again - no variety in content leads to no variety in gameplay. This is exactly the reason why me and Trunken decided to create an Armour Expansion!...

In my eyes, RimWorld weapon system was always in dire need of expanding. With experience in imitating game’s simple art style, me and Tr...
