Testing an Expansive Firewall Pipe Collar

Here's a quick follow up to my last video about intercalated graphite and it's use in intumescent, fire resistant products. This pipe collar uses strips of compressed expandable graphite flake with a flexible binder to wrap around pipes and seal them off in case of fire. Pretty neat.

I've been sick for much of the last year but finally felt well enough to get this project filmed and finished. Hopefully this next year will be illness free as the problem seems to have been identified and correctable with minor surgery, and I'm feeling well enough to work in the meantime.

For this project I set out to make a wood burning camping stove that could heat a shelter or hot tent (an open floored tent made for use with a stove) without weighing you down on a hike.
