Hey guys, here's a new piece of theory that I've worked out. This is an arpeggio pattern that I think best captures the aesthetics of "pretty" Math Rock and Midwest Emo.

The pattern here focuses on the sound of a MA7Sus2 chord or a MA9 chord without a 3rd. This sound is frequently used as the basis for many open tunings in the midwest emo idiom.

An original theory I've come up with of a custom scale that is highly applicable to math rock

Diatonic Chords In Major And Minor Keys

A neat little thing I put together which shows all of the diatonic chords in both Major and Minor keys, as well as seventh chords, and possible extensions. 

This document includes tables and examples in the keys of C major and A minor. I highly recommend printing this out, or at the very least, giving it a good study.
