Hey guys. Excited to share a little teaser of what we're working on.
I might not be able to record both videos as I had planned today as we're getting really stressed out about finishing this project in time, but worry not, there's a LOT of video material coming up in the coming weeks. So far we have over 11 hours of video recorded for this project, and we're far from done yet.
Will be HELL to edit 😅

A little side track this week, 3D-prepping for a rebuild at home. Part 2 coming up tomorrow Thursday, Part 3 on Friday. All recorded, just need to edit!
Not much of a tutorial, but letting you in on the journey. Also in this video I'm using the "UVW Random"-script that I shared some time ago.

So I have a couple of ventures ahead. One is image critique, and I'm happy to say that I've received quite a few images from you guys, and you're doing an amazing job! Some of you suggested that this would be done on Live Streams via Discord, which is a great idea.
Secondly I'm getting into some exciting projects with Martin that could as well be partially live streamed instead of only pre-recorded videos. Obviously all live streams would be recorded as well for those who can't attend....

This is a simple but handy script I use to prepare my models for upload here on Patreon. If you open a saved Max-file and run this script it will:
1. Resave the max-file for Max 2017
2. Export the contents of this max-file to .FBX format in same folder as Max-file
3. Export the contents of this max-file to .OBJ format in same folder as Max-file

This script randomizes the gizmo orientation/position of the UVW Map modifiers on your model. It requires to have the modifiers on the model already. There are many scripts for randomizing UVW's out there, and FStorm has a built in feature for doing it at render time as well. However both FStorm and many other scripts lack the function to flip the map randomly in either axis.
I use this mostly when mapping seamless wood textures on plank floors and plank walls. Since FloorGenerator do...

This window was built in Övre Olskroksgatan pt. 3, which is coming up today! The window is not openable, but otherwise has nice, somewhat sloppy details.

Hey guys. I'm Editing part 3 of Olskroksgatan, recorded and was suppoed to be released last week but my sons birthday ambushed me from absolutely nowhere and I never got around to do it.
Anyway, I want to adress some input from a few of you. In the last few videos I've been timelapsing parts of the videos that I concider is just worthless monotonous grinding, basically showing the same procedure being done over and over again, like camera matching the rooms in pt. 1. I concider it...

Hey guys!
Hope you're having a great Friday! Here's another status update to keep you informed of my thoughts and way forward here on Patreon.
I have two topics I want to address today, tiers and image critizism.
1: The Tier Dilemma
I've been having a dilemma this year. Before the summer I added a few new tiers to this Patreon channel, tiers that were meant to replace the old ones. The idea behind that was that I would open a door to be able to ...

I thought I'd manage to cover a lot more in one video, how wrong I was.
Anyway, part 3 coming up tomorrow!

Say hello to KSAT MKii, the prototype law enforcement robot. Me and Martin have a couple of animations in mind with this guy with the sole purpose of learning how to do cool sci-fi film. It involves everything from motion capture and character retargeting to camera tracking, color grading and so on.
Here's a little sneak peak where he is added into some film footage, lit woth an Hdri captured on location, rendered in SLOG2-alike color and graded together with the video backpl...

This scripts lets you with one click select all vertical edges in a model. Honesty I can't even remember what I needed it for, but if you ever find yourself in a situation where it could be useful, here it is.
If I remember correctly I snatched pieces of this script from ScriptSpot forums.

Have to make a new scene for promo content and found these great photos taken by a friend of mine, so I decided it could be fun to rebuild this apartment using the perspective match tool.

This script what we use for quickly setting our scene up for rendering previews for your model bank. When clicked, it does the following:
1. Sets the render resolution to 1000x1000px
2. Enables safe frame
3. Moves the viewport camera to a default angle, and uses zoom extents to center the selected object in the frame. This means that if you have a HDRI preset for preview renders, your lighting will always come from the same direction in your preview images making them match...

A quick but incredibly useful script to just rotate the camera (render settings) from portrait to landscape mode and vice verca. I have more or less completely replaced this Script with use the scene manager "Pulze.io" but it still comes in handy when just roaming around the scene with no specific set cameras.
Oh and BTW, Scene manager Pulze.io will be explained more in a video coming next week.

Hey guys!
I got a little short on time today so I didn't have time to edit the full 1hr video. However I really wanted to upload something as I know you've been waiting for some new videos for a while so I decided to upload half of it now and finish the editing over the weekend.
More videos to come shortly!

This very simple script was made to easily copy/paste objects from one scene to another. For example if you're working in a scene but want to do shaders in another.
Just write the script in your MaxScript editor, mark the text and Drag&Drop it into any toolbar where you want it and voila, you have a button.
Copy code (change URL to whatever you want) or just use the attached scripts :
(
saveNodes $ "C:\\3dtemp\hej"
)

Useful when for example preparing models for sharing, or when you want to use "Select and place" tool and make sure that the bottom of the object is always placed onto selected surface. "Select and place" has a setting for this as well but isn't default. I just prefer knowing that my pivot is correctly placed.
Just drag it into your toolbar and you'll have easy one click access to it to speed up your work.

This script we use a lot in combination with the reset pivot script. Knowing that the pivot is at center-bottom, when using this script the model is instantly moved to the center of the scene. Useful when prepping models for export etc.
Code:
(
For objectselected in $Selection do
objectselected.position=[0,0,0]
)
