Since im at home and before starting a new project on Monday, I decided to make another type of tutorials as well. More closely to "quicktips".
I try to keep em short in terms of duration. In these tut series, i will be a little bit more technical and will discuss issues I ve faced in commercial projects and how i solved/tackled em.
"Putting theory into practice" is my moto here. Cause besides personal projects where i do whatever the fuck i want, in commercials, things are a litt...

Lets begin this tutorial series, in the middle of this shit storm with COVID-19. Hopefully with time and self constraint, situation will get better for everyone.
Till then, lets dance with some fruits :)

I thought to leave this here as well. It is the interviews from all the speakers in last years' Motion Plus Design in Japan. From the legendary Ash Thorp to poor YETI's duo, you can watch each one's background, some stories and get our own perspective of how we see things in this industry and this world in general.
I guess with this quarantine situation, the more stuff is there to watch the better :)

Hope everyone is doing alright. Tony and I wish u the best to u and ur families. Stay healthy!
Cheers!

Heya,
This is a sneak peak from our latest course. Its a small intro to rigid bodies and how to solve complex shapes in order to apply dynamics to many objects without issues. As usual feel free to ask anything in the comments below.
Have a great weekend!

Hey mates,
As u see we have been busy lately and along with heavy studio work, we found some time to do this one as well. This is a breakdown of a project we did last year. Its been exclusively distributed by our good buddies in Motion Design School. This will be our last course for quite a while cause we have neglected our personal projects.
We gonna also jump to case studies in Patreon in March, after one more tut that I owe u about advection.
Thanks a lot for ur suppor...

Hello dear friends,
Our Tokyo presentation is finally online. While this isnt the typical "I press this button and voila" presentation, I thought that some of you might find interesting our philosophy and approach behind YETI pictures.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Heyoo,
This is the second part of the advection series exploring surfaces. First part is very similar to Bob's in youtube, but i had to explain this basic concept before moving on.
Its a bit long, packed with info, as we get into more advanced methods of doing stuff with xp. Well. its not that advanced but it needs methodical follow up :)
As usual leave ur questions and comments below!
Have a great weekend!

First part of the series, scratching the surface a bit. There are also some very nice introductory tutorials in Insydium youtube channel, so take a look there as well. As usual if any questions hit me in the comments below. Enjoy!

This is a basic snow shader. Ofc it can be a lot better with OSL noises and tweaking uvs per object plus with RandomWalk sss which is implemented in octane 2020. Tried to make it procedural so with minor tweaks it can fit to ur objects. It works only with 2019 and above cause i wanted to utilize the displacement mixer.
Keep in mind u need to raise ur diffuse and specular depth in order to get the light passing through. As usual if any questions, let me know in the comments below.

Its been a great and very tiring year on our side. This is our last tutorial for 2020. Wanna thank each and everyone of you for the support and the feedback.
A small roadmap here: I could play with smoke forever (and i will come back to it haha).
But i think its time to move on to xparticles and to my favorite concept of "advection".
Im preparing an in depth series about it and i will start recording asap after the holidays.
So i wish to u and ur families a happy new y...

Hey there,
Just came back from Tokyo, was a wonderful experience. Thanks to all the people that are here in this patreon and attended the speech back there as well! It will go public around February I think for those that are interested.
To the point: here is the disintegration tut. I messed up once more cause of my jet lag. But i hope u will find something useful in there. Again, did TFD and Explosia versions.
I have one more thing i wanna show as im playing with smoke here ...

So just before jumping into plane for Tokyo, i managed to find a little time to do this quick and dirty one :) I did explosia as well here, but its pretty basic, i definitely dont know explosia well to control it as I want to. But since a lot of u were asking this, i gave it a shot on the fly.
Also wasnt octane's issue here, im just burned out and overworked, all i needed to do is lower my voxel size and get some sleep!
Cu soon with the next one!
Domo Arigato :)

A note here i separated the emitters on 1 emitting temperature and 1 density . Therefore u can have 2 smokes with different colors blending.

Another tut idea for the fire thingies :) Would u like that as well?
I will do TFD first cause this is how i make my fluids and then translate the info as much as i can into Explosia to keep everybody happy.
Cheers!

First of all HAPPY PATRON DAY :)
According to Patreon, this is today, so a big THANKS to everyone for ur kind comments and support.
Secondly, apologies again for the lengthy tutorial. I think you will find it informative. Its pretty hard to showcase TFD, has so many aspects in order to pass the appropriate info to you.
That being said, explosia is coming shortly in a big series about XP :) Be a bit patient trying to make this as good as i can.
