After sitting on this for a while i decided to hammer on and get the sketch finished. technical drawing is not my strong point, but i needed to get this done in order to properly realise the design in 3D and make it easier on myself to draw it consistently in the future. also to prove to myself that i can draw like this, given the effort. by no means perfect, but the main thing is that it looks good enough at a glance. Sport as religion is a heavily exploited trope but i'd like to try and place my spin on it visually, romantically. heavily charged emotion, movement, and divinity of the mundane are the sort of motifs i want to use for this project, and honestly i've found sports manga/anime tends to do a good job on expressing this.

Something fun i did between commission work! this is inspired by the colour palettes from gundam 0083.
