May 21st, 2019: Sanchez, Happ, Estrada, Frazier, Loaisiga, Adams, 2019 Draft

Remember when the Yankees started 6-9 and lost home series to the Orioles, Tigers, and White Sox? Feels like a lifetime ago. The Little Engine That Could has won 23 of its last 31 games and has baseball's best record since Tax Day. You're going to hear a lot of dumb stuff these next few weeks about the injured guys coming back and ruining the team's mojo, but don't buy it. The healthy Yankees are much more likely to continue at this pace than the replacement Yankees. That doesn't mean we can'...

May 17th, 2019: Andujar, Rendon, Morales, Bullpen, Stanton

The Yankees have not played much baseball since the last post, yet they've managed to make one trade, lose a player to a season-ending injury, and make confusing statements about another player's injury. What a week. Here are today's thoughts and this week's mailbag question (send questions to RABmailbag@gmail.com).

1. Andujar's surgery. The Miguel Andujar surgery news is such a bummer on so many levels. For starters, he is a personal favorite and I wil...

May 14th, 2019: Andujar, Gardner, Dingers, German, Valera, Farquhar, Crawford, International Draft

The AL East race is suddenly real tight. You didn't think the Rays would run away with it and the Red Sox would remain a punchline all season, did you? Since the cherry-picked date of April 17th, the Rays are 10-11 and the Red Sox are an American League best 16-6. The Yankees are 16-7. Gonna be a fun race in the AL East this summer. Here is the first of two posts this week. Another is coming Friday as I test out the "tw...

So it turns out when you only write one post per week, it's a really big post. Twelve points and 4,072 words today. Going forward, I think I'm going to break it into two posts per week. More frequent updates for you and no additional work for me since I write this as I go. Plus it'll also help avoid having topics go stale. I'm going to try Tuesday and Friday next week and see how it goes. Anyway, here are this week's thoughts. (Send mailbag questions to RABmailbag@gmail.com.)...

May 1st, 2019: Sabathia, Rotation, Lineup, Voit, Green, Deivi

Yesterday was literally the first day in my adult life without RAB and folks, let me tell you, it was weird as hell. I kept thinking I needed to get started on the game thread throughout the afternoon, and during the game I was making mental notes for the recap. I imagine it'll be a while before I get over that. Anyway, here are the first set of Patreon thoughts. I sincerely thank everyone who signed up. The support has been incredible.

1. I'm so happy CC Sabathia reached 3,000 strikeou...

First day at the new digs

Wow, I am overwhelmed by the support. I was hoping to get 150, maybe 200 patrons, and nearly four times that many joined in 24 hours. Thank you so much.

The first day without RAB in 12 years has been a bit weird -- I ran some errands and when I got home I kinda panicked that I had no post topics in mind for Wednesday -- but I'll get used to it. Because so many people signed up, I'm going to publish the first thoughts post tomorrow rather than next week. I have to empty out the notebook ...
